Subway Allegedly Knew Jared Fogle Bragged About Raping 9-Year-Olds

[Ed. Note: As many people have commented, if Jared was soliciting nine-year-old sex slaves in Thailand as he allegedly bragged about, he was clearly not “having sex” with them. He was raping them. Which is a fair and precisely accurate way to describe that shit. My apologies for not wording it as such. The necessary corrections have been made. – SW]

When information about the FBI’s investigation into Jared Fogle began to unfold early in August, text messages from 2008 between Jared and a then-18-year-old Subway franchisee were published and detailed his obsession with finding underage children to statutorily rape. The franchisee says she reported Jared’s behavior to Subway who allegedly did nothing, and now in light of Jared’s plea deal for child porn possession and soliciting minors for sex, she’s come forward in an interview with Business Insider to detail just what she told Subway, and goddammit…

[Cindy] Mills says Fogle admitted to her that he’d had sex with minors, telling her about trysts with child prostitutes between the ages of 9 and 16 years old in Thailand and the US.
Mills previously told Business Insider that Fogle allegedly tried to get her to sell herself for sex on Craigslist. When she first spoke with us, she requested anonymity. She said she didn’t want more press attention at the time. But now that Fogle’s case has been exposed, she says she feels comfortable using her name.
Mills says she shared this information with Subway in 2008 but that the company ignored her complaints. That’s when she decided to hire a lawyer.
“I thought, ‘This man has a lot of money. Subway has a lot money. They have made each other a lot of money,'” Mills said. “I was worried. I was scared to death.”

Turns out Subway didn’t legally have to do anything about Jared because they’d “isolated” themselves from him by employing him through a separate marketing entity:

But Subway couldn’t be found culpable, [Cindy Mills’ lawyer Robert] Beasley said, because Fogle wasn’t an employee of Subway. Fogle was employed by the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust, or SFAFT.
SFAFT, which is in charge of Subway’s global marketing, was legally viewed as a separate entity from Subway — even though it shares the same address as the company headquarters.
“They have pretty well isolated themselves from Jared’s acts,” Beasley told Business Insider. “We couldn’t find an avenue to pursue where it would connect his acts and statements to any legal liability to Subway. Combine that with [Mills’] unwillingness to get out in public and say this and you end up staying silent.”

Except Cindy Mills didn’t stop there and talked to the CEO of SFAFT who she claims not only told her he knew about Jared’s proclivities, but was convinced that he’s all better now because he married a teacher. That works with children. No red flags there, anyone? Okay.

Mills says Moody cut her off in the middle of the conversation, saying, “Please don’t tell me any more.”
He indicated that he had dealt with similar complaints in the past, according to Mills.
“He said, ‘Don’t worry, he has met someone. She is a teacher and he seems to love her very much, and we think she will help keep him grounded,'” Mills recalls.

As for why Cindy Mills didn’t go to the police, she’d already been brushed off twice by a massive, multi-millionaire sandwich corporation that had legally isolated themselves from its pedophile pitchman presumably in case anyone found out what he does in his spare time. And just like almost every single story about Bill Cosby, she didn’t think anyone would believe her because Jared looks like the “all-American boy.” Which is the really sad part because I’m pretty sure the first thought in most people’s minds when they see Jared Fogle is “Wow, that guy touches kids. He touches them all over.”
