there are six counties in the north of Ireland,which are under British reign,and this is where most of the ‘Troubles’ in the last 50 years took place.And where the IRA were most active.you realize that they have disbanded dont you?hopefully you have at least that much info.the rest, i shall provide…

Past History-
In 1495 Henry VII extended English law over the entirety of Ireland, and assumed supremacy over the existing Irish parliament,hence making Ireland a british territory(like India,and America).
During the reign of James I (ruled 1603-1625), Catholic schools were closed and children were taught only in Protestant institutions. Irish, which was the national language, was not allwed to be taught in schools,and anyone speaking it was punishable by law.
It was about this period that the emigration trend began.

Most Irish are,and were, roman catholic by religion,and during british rule,it was explicty forbidden to practise freely,churhes were closed down,anyone who spoke irish was thrown in jail,priests who held secret masses were also arrested and in some cases,murdered,as well as their parishoners. this went on for hundreds of years,people held secret masses on Christmas knowing that if they were caught it might mean death.

the irish language greatly suffered,and sad to say,today,it is almost a dead language,with it only being studied in schools and spoken fluently by very few.

There were no irish landowners,only the British owened land and let the Irish work upon it,with all of the profit going to the landowner,and only measley scrapings to the workers.When the famine hit,large amounts of Irish migrated to,well to you, in America.

In 1916,after sufferng opression for hundreds of years,the Irish revolted against British rule in a very major way.It was known as the 1916 Easter rising,and it changed opinions in a very major way.after it was supressed by the britsh army,they rounded up the militants,and for good measure,many many others who had no connection with the rising,and executed all of them.this outraged the Irish people,and changed opinion in a very major way,and the next general election with the British(1918),Sinn Fein(which was made up of some of the irish army that survived the Rising) won an overwhelming majority,and hence the Republic of Ireland was born,WOHOO!.they were free to practise their religion and speak their language,but years of damage had sadly been done.

becareful when you use the term ‘holy war’ in a flippant manner.yes the irish fought for their religion,but they also founght for their langusge,the right to own their own land,marry who they pleased,and most of all,their identity.

now for recent events.

the Brithish stil have rule over six counties in the north of Ireland,and even after the rest of the counties became irish,they still ruled the last ones with an iron fist.

the police were british,and a lot of sectarian violence ensued,with many unjust punishments and imprisonments of roman catholics.Inquests are still being held to this day to investigate these actions.

im margaret thatchers reign,irish prisoners in british jail went on hunger strike to protest their innocence,and margaret thathcer ignored them entirely as if it wasnt hapening.one of them sadly died,Bobby Sands,and her reaction was still to do nothing,and give no acknowledgment of the fact.Cold,cold bitch.she was all for Apartheid too,remember?

also might be interesting to you,the Brimingham Six ,unlucky irishmen who were arrested ,then tortured and tortured by british police until they signed false confessions to planning two bombings,based on erroneous information.they were sentenced to life imprisonment,and were held in prison,wrongly accused with faked information from 1975 to 1991 when the conviction was overturned.

Because of so many miscarriages of justice a comittee had to be set up in 1991 to investigat further,and ensure that people were no longer imprisioned solely for the fact that they were Irish.look it up,you will find it all on wikipedia,im sure.

Ever hear the song Sunday,Bloody Sunday,by U2?let me tell you what its about.In 1920 in Croke park in Dublin,(a park that was set up to promote the irish sports,hurling.etc)county Tipperary was set to play Dublin.The night before british intelligence officers had sufferd a loss of some officers that had been found out trying to infiltrate the irish revolutionay forces.they decided to make the Irish pay for finding out their planted spies,so they tossed a coin to decide whether they would go on a killing spree in Croke park or loot O’Connell Street,the main street in dublin.

Croke park won.so on the day of the macth after the referee had blown the whistle and the match was in play,the BRITISH OFFICERS opened fire.At first the crowd thought that it was blanks,then the machine guns started.A stampede ensued.

Two of the players, Michael Hogan and Jim Egan, failed to make it off the pitch. A young Wexford man who attempted to whisper an act of contrition(prayers for the dying) into the dying Hogan’s ear was also shot dead.

The casualties included Jeannie Boyle, who had gone to the match with her fiancee and was due to be married five days later, and 14-year-old John Scott, so mutilated that they thought he had been bayoneted to death. Another two victims were aged 10 and 11 respectively.It was a truly horrific act,done when people should have been rejoicing and when many had of course brought their children.Just like any given sunday in america.Blood of chidren,on the hands of the British troops.Who do the british troops take orders from?thats right people,the British government.

To this day,matches are still played in Croke park.But the only games allowed in the park are Hurling,Camogie and Gaelic football-purely irish games.Croke park is hallowed ground to the Irish.

The second Bloody Sunday was on January 30, 1972, when British paratroopers killed 13 Irish citizens at a civil rights protest in Derry, Northern Ireland. The song is more about the second Bloody Sunday,but you get the general picture. Have a listen to the song,it speaks for itself.

Here’s something you people might not know, Wesley’s in the right, and he can win in court. There is no law that says you must file a tax return. Most everybody thinks there is, but there actually isn’t.

Watch the prosecuters closely and you’ll see that they’ll never actually mention a statute which says he’s required to file a return. They’ll yell and pout and accuse and infer, but they’ll never actually mention a specific statute by name and number. I think this trial is going to be really fun to watch.
