Pauly Shore got into a heated exchange with some hecklers during a standup gig over the weekend in Odessa, Texas. During the incident one of the men walks on stage and Pauly Shore tries to diffuse the situation by apologizing and saying, “Please, stop, stop.” Then the crowd of intellectuals start shouting “Hit him!” and Mr. Cowboy figures this is time to shine. The guy is quickly escorted away by police and Pauly Shore storms off saying, “Fuck all you fuckin’ white trash.”
There’s some NSFW language, but if you watch the clip you can really feel the intelligence emanating from the room. As if they managed to cram every member of Mensa into that little comedy club. If they all concentrated really hard they could probably lift the entire building with just the power of their minds.

UPDATE: Turns out the whole thing was staged. The Odessa Police Department says an officer “had met with Mr. Shore prior to his set, and was asked to participate in the skit. The officer stated that the skit went as designed and that Shore was not injured in the designed skit.”

So seriously, I know Pauly’s whole career is making himself look like an ass but this stunt went a bit too far. I hope Pauly got at least a splinter from fake falling on the hicks stage.

#93 – i’v been all over the world too. i use to live in dallas, and i have been to odessa. i also use to live in nyc, and i would take an angry new yorker over a redneck any day. btw – #93 is right, most of odessa is hispanic. but there is still many a redneck in that west texas region. plus, their sister city is midland. to me midland and odessa are the same place. midland has more going on. still boring.

That was a lame stunt, and he has his share of flops, but I can’t say I don’t love Encino Man, or that I wouldn’t mind passing a spliff with Pauly. I’m sure he’s a funny guy, just makes bad career choices.

I think we’re all wishing now that someone had dropped Pauly Shore for reals… the only people more retarded than the rednecks who help someone pull a lame-ass “prank” is the person who comes up with said lame-ass prank in the first place. As far as your statistics on population are concerned, here’s a direct quote from Wikipedia concerning Odessa. “The city and its surrounding suburbs had a population of 125,339 as of 2005.” (Someone needs to call Wikipedia and set them straight on the usage of the word “city”.) Your unemployment rate statistics are also a bit outdated. The actual current unemployment rate is just over 3% as of November 2006. I went to college in Lubbock – which is even WORSE if you can imagine. At least you can get good weed in Odessa.
I high-tailed it out of satan’s rectal part of texas after my useless degree from Texas Tech, and have lived happily in Boston and Manhattan for over 10 years now.
I am indeed, however, planning on moving back to Texas, Austin, to be exact, where at least you have a buffer zone to people from Odessa, and its widely considered, the blue city in a red state.
Americans in general, SUCK. I have been all over the world, my family is not from this country, which explains why I am so cool, and everyone else sucks. HA!
