Hawks sign veteran Erick Dampier
ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks, short-handed at center following injuries to Al Horford and Jason Collins, have signed 15-year veteran center Erick Dampier to a 10-day contract. The 36-year-old Dampier played in 51 games with Miami last season.

    I realize this is a technicality, but on of the things that irk me about veterans day is the emphasis on American soldiers only. How about just a simple thank you to all the men and women who served all over the world to maintain the western worlds freedom.

    It amazes me when morons denounce the U.S. Military while simultaneously exercising the freedom(s) granted them by our armed forces. Our brave men and women do not dictate policy. They serve their country.

    Thank you to every last one of our finest, and that includes the family/loved ones that endure the anxiety which accompanies separation from their heroes. – Past and present… soldiers, airmen, and sailors represent the highest level of prestige our country has to offer.

    @22 its people like you who degrade and deminish all of our holidays by “making sure everyone is included” how about we take Mothers day and make is so every living thing with a vigina is part of that day no matter the age or if they have children?     @30: FYI, we celebrate our veterans here in Canada also today as they served in many wars including WWII. I must admit that American soldiers played a big part in maintaining western world freedom and as a Canadian, I must thank you and all other veterans for that.
