Most bulimic females are on a normal to overweight weight range, just so ya know. It is not uncommon for women to go either way when they recover – either gaining weight from eating more food and digesting it properly OR losing from eating less and less binging etc.

Refeeding syndrome. She is probably retaining water and most of the weight she gained during treatment went to her midsection. It will eventually redistribute. Most people who recover from an eating disorder experience this.
