Around midnight last night Jackass and Viva La Bam star Ryan Dunn (left) posted the above photo to his Twitter account. Three hours later, he was pronounced dead in a car accident. TMZ reports:
34-year-old Dunn appeared in all of the “Jackass” movies — famously shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first flick back in 2002.
Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash which happened around 3 a.m. at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. It’s unclear who was driving the car.
So, basically two drunk assholes got into a car Porsche and luckily managed to only kill themselves instead of innocent bystanders. I’d say that’s a happy ending, but only if footage turns up of Ryan Dunn looking into a camera and saying, “I call this one ‘Natural Selection.’”

You can equivocate all you like. The stupid douche killed himself and a passenger by flying off a dangerous road at 110 MPH and into a tree. Drunk or not the fucking moron is to blame.
I can’t even imagine what his family and friends are going through. This is a really devastating loss, whether you liked Ryan or not.
A couple of people here are mentioning the car was going over 100 mph, what article said that? Since this story is so new, there are a lot of details missing.

I am an older dude and I met Ryan out on several occasions. He was a great guy and I liked him a lot. He was friendly and we had some discussions about business and real estate. He was down to earth and intelligent. His “stage” manner was not close to how I saw Ryan in person. Bam was there and was laid back and low key. I am saddened to hear about this accident. Ryan will be missed. I am privileged I got to meet the real Ryan and my thoughts are with his family and friends.

1) just because someone is an “entertainer who brought laughter to millions” they don’t get a pass to be an asshole without recrimination.

No, you can feel sad about an entertainer dying, but that doesn’t change the fact that he got what was coming to him. Even if he wasn’t drunk (and we know he was at least drinking), I refer you to #3: if you drive like a jackass you’re going to get in an accident. What does “deserving” have to do with it. He is dead because of his choices. At the bare minimum he was driving way too fast on a 2 lane road with at least one or two drinks in him. More than likely he was piss drunk; something that will become clear if they can get enough of his corpse scraped together for a toxicology report considering how burned up he was and how little of the car is left. Weep for him if you want but you can shove off with the excuses… He is at fault. Period.

I live in West Chester and although I dont know Dunn personally, I do know he was one of the ‘good’ guys of the cast. The area he wrecked is a breeding ground for accidents. There are deaths there all the time unfortunately, and you’d have to be pretty lit up to be driving 100+ mph in that area. Even sober, alert, in daylight and going around the speed limit, there are a lot of accidents there. If he was drunk, he drank and drove for the last time. If he wasnt, then its an unfortunate speeding accident. Whatever the case, sympathies to his family and friends, and the same to the passenger.
I love how people try so hard to praise and protect someone who is making fun of someone who died. Whether he was a bum or the president or a jackass, you should still show some respect for the dead. The passenger still willingly got into the car, knowing that he had been drinking. He could’ve refused to get into the car… (assuming Ryan had been drink driving).
And if Dunn wasn’t drunk then he chose to drive over 100 mph and killed his passenger who presumably thought the sober man was ok to drive.
It’s also worth pointing out that the Porsche 911 has notoriously bad handling around turns at high speeds. Even the Stig on Top Gear spun off the track during the lap test in the 911, and he’s a professional racer. Bad choices all around!
