Hollywood is 99.9% full of selfish little pricks with their heads so far up their asses they can’t even tell when they’re running over babies, so every once in a while it’s nice to post about a celebrity who isn’t a thunder-douche. Here’s Ron Perlman helping out the Make-A-Wish foundation in full, film-ready makeup as Hellboy for little Zachary (above) whose dream was to not only meet Hellboy but get a chance to become him which creator Mike Mignola and the folks at Spectral Motion made happen. So talk about a unique, badass little kid who had his choice of any superhero and went with Hellboy. Also, kudos to his folks for going, “You’re damn right you can meet Hellboy” because even if I was dying, my mom would’ve beat Ron Perlman to death with the King James then tried to convince me a DC Talk album is just as cool.

  1. Dude of Dudes

  2. DJ ToeJam

    That. Is. Awesome.

  3. That is totally cool , that is pretty awesome of him doing that.

    • Christa

Say WHAT? You encourage peploe to sit around and PRAY for things to get better? Seriously, are you americans capable of being any denser? Name ONE TIME that praying has accomplished anything!!!Your prayers are unheard, there is no god.You have been brainwashed since birth to believe there is, to keep you sheep from going nuts, thinking about the fact that there will be no oasis for your dry, rotting faces. Please, realize that religion is just another way to keep you dumb n numb

  4. Livinus Nwambe

That’s just awesome. Mad props to Ron Perlman.

  5. Bane

    Way to go Ron!

  6. Guest

Pretty amazing guy. Also, am now convinced we had same mother. I kept my Cypress Hill Cd’s in a DC Talk Case.

  7. Lisatlantic

    DC Talk. HAH.

  8. Angel

    Very cool!!!

  9. Frank Burns

Well done, Ron! That kind of makeup I understand is a pain to put on, so this wasn’t a tiny undertaking.

    • kimmykimkim

Exactly what I was thinking, Frank. That makeup must take 5-6 hours, or something ridiculous like that.

      • Frank Burns

Ron also fed the entire group – from the Facebook story:

“Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy.”

That’s just over the top cool.

    • m.

Ron has said that he won’t do another Hellboy movie, because the make-up is such a pain. So it’s really nice to see him doing it again for the right reason (read: not for money).

(Also maybe now he will reconsider doing another movie… one can hope)

At last the source of our favorite blogger’s God-hating, Christian-bashing comes out. The most angry atheists I know come from very religious homes. The stricter they are, the more they turn people against them.

    • Mr. Hilter

Not a secret; Fish has talked about his religious upbringing more than a few times. His hatred is justified. Just like Timothy Olyphant in the hit FX show Justified.

    • I grew up athiest and I find religion fucking stupid too.

    • Brooke

You must be semi-new… Yeah, Fish’s folk’s were fanatics. My dad was a Methodist minister and though I had no qualms with what he preached and I think Jesus, real or not, had some great stories and teachings that led to the birth of a fine religion, there are pseudo-Medieval fanatics who misinterpret things or just use the Bible “when it’s convenient” and they give the religion a bad name (as well as America, fom an outsider’s pov). As it is now, I’m agnostic but still respect religions, but Fish’s experiences put him in the angry atheist category. And yeah, like you said a lot of people with his background end up pretty bitter.

  11. DeucePickle

First I would just like to say thanks for posting an article this fucking awesome and second, you better believe I’ll be saying “thunder-douche” several times a day for the foreseeable future.

  12. Randall Landers

That’s just an outright awesome thing to do. Getting into that makeup takes hours, and it’s not comfortable. Way to go, Ron!

  13. Joe Mamma

Hellboy drinking artesian bottled water? FAIL.

  14. Lemmiwinks

Ron has been married to the same woman since 1981, which is about as un-Hollywood as you can get.

  15. Carolyn

A very kind thing to do for this little boy.

  16. Grand Dragon

Perlman is my favorite Jew, next to Jesus and Winona Ryder

    • Jesus H. "Tapdancing" Christ

Thank ya, thank ya verra much… Not sure about Winona though, the first time she gets caught boosting a pack of smokes she’ll probably rat Ron and me out to Pontius “Abs o’ Steel” Pilate.

  17. tina

Super nice!! I think there should be more people willing to do these kinds of things!

  18. El Jefe

That is pretty fucking cool. Always liked him, cool dude.

  19. Aaron

    Fucking A, right.

  20. AndyDufresne

    Very cool.

  21. logan

Ron Perlman for President! Someone who thinks of others first. What a concept. Hope it spreads. Beats the two we have to choose from. Way Cool!!!!!

    • El Jefe

Yep, because trying to make sure the poor and underprivileged have health care is selfish and not thinking of others first, right?

      • logan

where I come from the poor and underprivleged have health care, it’s called welfare. those who choose not to work, but can manage to get on disability. i know of a douch who wrecked his four wheeler on purpose (rammed his own car) now has back pain and can’t work. Others work a few hours a week, even though more work is available and get a medical card. Dont tell me there is not already medical help available for those who dont’ have insurance. Surely this can’t just be happining in rural PA. I heard on the news that more people got on disablilty than got jobs in June. I know people who milk the system every day. who pays? hard working people that who. I know of people who have good paying jobs, yet visit the local food banks. They laugh at how easy it is to take avantage. Milk the system is easy. We all know of people who do it.

      • It seems that you know a lot of people who are gaming the system. If you, in fact are a true American you would turn these people in without a second thought and let the chips fall where they may.
C’mon, be a man, be a true American. Turn your relative in post haste. Mom will look good in prison garb.

  22. Stephy

DC Talk! LOL. I used to think they were awesome.

  23. kimmykimkim

Fish, we need more stories like this so we can weed out the thunder douches.

  24. So much coolness :)

  25. D-chi

Hellboy is a boss, but let it be known that DC Talk is also pretty awesome.

  26. Bianca

1.) Awww my heart just melted!

2.) Holy cow, I forgot about DC Talk. My childhood bff was only allowed to listen to them and every time she came over to my house she made me play “cool” music (read: Ace of Base, Haddaway and Dance Mic ’92 tapes).

  27. The Pope

“Yeah, lefty is okay, but when I go righty it’s like being molested by Ben Grimm.”

  28. jamie

Good for you Ron !! Finallly lsomeone in Hollywood who isnt a complete TOOL !!! Make -A-Wish foundation is AWESOME !!!!

  29. hipknowtoad

Well done for your first Superficial entry, Ron Perlman. Though, blowing cigar smoke in the kid’s face have really won me over.

  30. Matt

DC Talk is great, good for Ron. Great thing to do.

  31. Brooke

This post honestly brightened my day.

  32. Nope

Way to go, Ron! Nice to see someone who’s more fortunate than most giving back to those in need. Attaboy, Hellboy!

  33. Oz Matters

Just look at the face of Zachary – to provide that much joy to a kid who is doing it tough deserves kudos.

  34. This is so cool. Ron Perlman always seemed like a really cool guy to me and this confirms it. I love Hellboy. Kudos, Ron. You’ve earned my respect.

  35. WTF People

    What is going on?

  36. Wow, what a stand-up guy. This made me tear up a little.

  37. Isa

You haven’t been paying attnetion have you? I thought the tea parties started on February 18th, 2009 with LibertyBelle in Seattle little did I know that the Ron Paul Revolution had been leading the charge since 2007 with the same exact message. So I guess the Ron Paul Revolution really is the founding of the tea parties. Here, check it out. (Excuse the language)
