Robert wouldn’t of been my first pick for Edward either. I would of picked someone like Jay Kenneth Johnson (Phillip Days of Our Lives), Hayden Christensen, or even Chace Crawford. I can’t see Henry Cavill as Edward at all, he looks too old to be 17 first of all and second of all I don’t see him looking that great with blonder colored hair. I can’t think of anyone that is actually around 17 years old that would of been a good choice for Edward either, since Edward is described as kind of looking like a Greek God. I can live with Pattinson I guess, but I still think there were better choices for his part. No one could possibly measure up to what Edward is in the book, as far as looks go, but still they could of done better with the casting of him. Kristen Stewart as Bella is right on, that is exactly how I picture Bella. The only cast member that looks out of place to me is Nikki Reed as Rosalie. Since Nikki is naturally dark haired, putting a blond wig on her looks so strange and fake. I’d also like to add that not everyone that read the Twilight books are teenagers or goth women, whatever you said. Lots of people read them! Probably not a lot of people that come on this site read them, but a lot of people do lol…

I don’t understand the whole heartthrob thing. I mean, sure, people sweat- but this guy should realize by now that he’s in the eye of the media. Sure, I don’t know him as a person, but from what I’ve seen of him in the media, he’s not the kind of actor I’d look up to. Have you seen what actors like Johnny Depp do? A little boy asked for a hat he was wearing during filming, and he promised he could have it when the movie was finished. He followed through with that promise. Johnny does tons of things for his fans, he cares. Robert has yet to gain my respect in that way. Johnny Depp has this thing, where no matter what he wears he’ll always look like a god. He can try to downplay his looks to no end, but he will always, always, look amazing. Robert has to understand he doesnt have that same privilage, and it would be nice if he tried a little harder. It seems like he’s actually trying to look like he’s NOT trying. As if, he’s going for an “I’m too cool to care” look. When Johnny Depp wears his piles of jewellry, it has meaning. Like a bracelet with the name of an aspiring child actor who died of cancer, or a bracelet his daughter made. (Yeah, I kind of have a thing for Johnny Depp, but at least he’s admirable!) So until this guy learns that people watch him and that he has to step it up, I really don’t see reason for his success to continue. It doesnt matter how talented you are, public appearances are part of the job.

I actually think Robert Pattinson is probably, with abit of time and practice, going to become a decent actor and seems to have a decent personality. Problem is when you have too intense media scrutiny, everything he does/says gets exaggerated or turns into lies etc. Yeah, he probably looks like he is really trying to not care, but to me, it doesn’t look like it is coming from a superficial place….I think he is telling HIMSELF as much as he is telling US that he doesn’t care about the hype….he HAS to do that, because if he gets overwhelmed by his own press, it could totally screw him up. He is probably really scared about becoming a Hollywood asshole, because he is so young and potentially impressionable. I do feel for him, and hope he is having a media-free break in London. He isn’t a god or Edward or perfect, but he isn’t an asshole either. Like most of us, he is somewhere in between.
