In a new interview with Ryan Seacrest, Rihanna defends collaborating with Chris Brown on the remix of “Birthday Cake” despite the fact he tried to cave her skull in and leave her for dead. Turns out selling a shit-ton of music makes you very easy to forgive, so everyone gather the kids around the monitor and let Rihanna teach you a lesson in succeeding in the music industry by treating attempted murder like a minor faux pas. Via RadarOnline:

She added that “despite everything else,” Brown’s the top selling R&B star in the world and a no-brainer to collaborate with on a professional level. (On the controversial dance hit, he sings to Rihanna, “Girl I wanna fuck you right now. Been a long time, I’ve been missing your body.”)
Brown, in turn, asked her to appear on the remix to his song, “Turn Up the Music” — “One for my fans, one for his fans,” she explained.
Subtly referring to the beating she endured at Brown’s hands — which he’s still on probation for — Rihanna said “there shouldn’t be a divide between my fans and his fans.
“It’s music and it’s innocent.”

And Rihanna has a point. There’s something pure and innocent about a song where a young man sings about fucking and licking a birthday cake vagina after spending the past three years not even showing a shred of remorse and throwing goddamn chairs through windows when someone dare asks him if he feels sorry about beating an innocent woman to a bloody pulp then biting her when she tries to escape. Just typing all that transported me to a magical land of dreams and whimsy. What’s that, Mr. Unicorn? You want me to ride you into a field of flowers and clovers to dance with sugar fairies? Sure! But first let me choke a bitch out behind the leprechaun forest. Oh, what fun we have! Wheeeeee!

They are on the same record label. I’m guessing when everything was all sunshine and light, they signed a contract agreeing to at least 2 collaborations. I think I remember reading something about a tour they were supposed to do together, or something… at least by doing remixes, at least they don’t have to be in the same room together to get it done… Record labels are evil. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were being forced to honor some stupid agreement.

  2. Frank Burns

Anything short of “he beat me so hard I can no long think rationally” is implausible and/or stupid. Get some help, Rihanna.

    • Richard McBeef

Half the problem is there are plenty of small cocked jackasses that get off on beating women. The other half of the problem is there are women weak minded and spineless enough to let those guys get off.

Well that and a society that forgives your ills if you publicly cry about Michael fucking Jackson.

        @Ringmaster
I hate to blow your tiny little mind but I’m black, not loud, polite, and speak english properly and am well aware that no one owes me anything, I owe it to myself to get where I want to be and do the things I want to do, and guess what?! So do other black people!

Guess what else?! People of all colors can be loud, obnoxious, have no intention of speaking english properly AND think they are owed something! Well how about that! It’s a people thing, not a race thing, but good try!

Oh and those things don’t qualify a person being beaten to a pulp, to a point where they are no longer recognizable, sorry(except I’m not actually)!

    • DusktillDawn

@ringmaster: You really are the most ignorant dipshit I have ever had the misfortune to come across. If you think it’s o.k. to smack someone just because they’re annoying you, why not go the whole hog and use them for target practice? You could make headlines that way, something you’ll otherwise never achieve, you imbecile!

I hereby absolve Chris Brown of all charges. She deserved everything she got and probably a whole lot more.

I had a fight with a co-worker. They punched me in the face and beat the living shit out of me. Then I made a federal case about it with the police and television/radio/internet news. The case was covered 24/7 for weeks.

Now its a few months later and I decided that I dont care about my reputation….by exposing my complete lack of ethical compass, I will show the world that I am of the lowest moral character. This makes you a prostitute. Great job Riri.

    • alex

That didn’t come out the way I was hoping. What I was trying to say was simply this:

She’s a piece of trash for communicating (let alone working) with the guy that beat the crap out of her. Her fans must feel really stupid now for supporting her. Its not a surprise to me that she’s just another entitled girl willing to compromise herself and her morals for a payday.

      • your mom

I get what you’re saying, and it’s shitty, don’t get me wrong. I’m just not entirely sure it’s something she’s doing it by choice.

  6. Schmidtler

As long as she keeps her blood alcohol level at triple the legal limit, walks around half naked, and butt sexes everything in sight, I really don’t care what else she does.
    CBLTC!!

he should have just finished the job and ended the stupid nig

  8. It’s like my Dad always used to tell me: “Son, if you love someone, beat the living shit out of them and be completely unrepentant about it. If they come back to you two years later, it was meant to be. If they don’t, well, they’ll remember not to fuck with you. What were we talking about?”

Dad used to drink a lot.

  9. OinkOink

  10. cc

Chris Brown must be a racist, he beat the black right out of her.

  11. NineInchNailed

Well, the way I see it is just because she seems to have ‘forgiven’ him or put the thing behind her doesn’t mean we should do the same. Plenty of battered women forgive their attackers, or go back to them, or try to move on by not dwelling on those horrible events (after all, I suppose life goes on and we can’t blame some for trying to put negative or violent things behind them. In a way it is survival). But this DOESN’T make their attackers any less guilty or any less despicable.

It does sadden me that Rihanna is now apparently acting like it was ‘no big deal’ – being that, whether she likes it or not, she is still in the public eye and she does have many young fans. However, we don’t also have to think like what Chris Brown did was not a big deal. Or that ‘omg it happened 3 years ago should he pay for his tiny mistake all his life omgah let it go’. Or those who think that Rihanna or any battered woman deserved what happened that horrible night just because of how she’s behaving now. No, and fuck anyone that thinks like that. Let’s never forget what Chris Brown did and I love Fish for always giving him hell for it – because he deserves hell. As Fish mentions, he has zero regrets, he goes into violent outbreaks whenever somebody mentions his little ‘incident’ and calls them ‘h8ers’. He attacked Rihanna, the girl he supposedly loved, when she looked at his cellphone and beat her face against the window and then BIT her. Fuck that sociopathic douchebag, he makes me sick to my stomach. And fuck anyone who now thinks that what he did was okay and that we should forget his stomach-churning actions just because he was 18 years old, that it happened a while ago or because Rihanna ‘moved on’.

I can only hope that if a young, confused or impressionable Rihanna or Chris Brown fan stumbles on Fish’s blog or on any one of the normal posters’ comments here that they will see that that no, getting beat up by or beating your significant other is NOT OKAY. That this violence is NOT OKAY just because your idols went through this experience and are acting like it’s nothing, or just because Hollywood media or other fans are fine with it. And that there will ALWAYS be help and support and no judgement for those individuals who get hurt by their significant others. Yes, regardless whether or not they were strong enough to walk away/report their attackers or if their fear/forgiving nature/devotion/distorted self-image/low self-esteem/pressure from others caused them to go back to those attackers or somehow reach acceptance about what they did.

In summary, fuck Chris Brown, that vicious douchebag. Try not to pass too much judgment on Rihanna. And all hail Fish.

    • OinkOink

really?? you wrote that much over this useless story lol

      • NineInchNailed

Wow, didn’t realize how long that went on for. The fuck. Well I never spoke up on a forum about Chris Brown’s abuse before and finally felt like saying something. Really admire when Fish rips him a new one with each related post.

    • Dan

Sorry, Rihanna is a weak woman that shouldn’t be celebrated. It is easy to accidentally go with someone who is an abuser. The weaker ones will not walk and the stronger ones will. You should celebrate the women who are strong enough to walk away from a situation like this – they deserve it! And it will give weaker person someone to look up to.

It is sort of like single moms who continue to fuck total douchebags.

I think they like the attention (oh poor Riri) of being in a dramatic situation – because they keep putting themselves into the drama.

I really don’t like this attitude of “don’t judge me for my completely fucked up situation that I am in because of the choices I made, and continue to make again and again.” I think it comes from this everyone gets a gold star in kindergarten and a trophy when playing sports as kids.

You should celebrate people who make good decisions because it encourages more optimal behavior from society.

Bottom line, Chris Brown is an asshole that should not have a career and Rhianna is a weak person with no self esteem that should not be looked up to.

      • Dan

Good God I’m turning into a crabby old man and I’m not yet 30…

      • NineInchNailed

Hey Dan, I agree completely with what you said that Rihanna should not be celebrated or looked up to for her behaviour and that Chris Brown is an asshole. We should definitely celebrate people who make good decisions (like Gabrielle Union, for example, who’s big on a stand against abuse against women after she was raped when she was younger). My point though was that we shouldn’t condemn Rihanna too much for her irrational behaviour being that it’s not unheard of for battered women to go back or forgive their attackers. This is in reference to all the posters who say that she deserved getting beat up or that she must have liked it or that they’ll have zero sympathy for her if she gets horribly attacked again (yes, even if a woman goes back to her attacker why does it stop being sad or disturbing if she gets hurt again?).

      • CranAppleSnapple

Dan, get the fuck off my lawn.

    • Aggie

I totally agree with you. There is no code of conduct or rules a woman has to follow after being abused.

Is Rihanna stupid for working with Chris Brown? I think so. Is it irresponsible considering she’s in the public eye? I think so. Does that make her somehow deserving of, or responsible for the vicious beating he gave her? Absolutely not.

The focus shouldn’t be on her questionable decisions in the aftermath, it should be on his violent behavior during the incident.

  12. JonTheTerrible

Normally I would say that no woman deserves a beating. But I’m rethinking that position in her case.

  13. El Jefe

She is a complete moron and she deserves to be ignored.

Already don’t let Chris Brown music in the house. Now I’m gonna put a moratorium on Rihanna too. Shame because my kids and I love her music but I’m not supporting this kind of stupidity. She already ticked me off when she said “If you don’t send your boyfriend naked pictures, then I feel bad for him,” but I foolishly let it slide. Not anymore. I have young, impressionable children who really don’t need to pick up what she’s putting down. Because she’s an idiot.

  22. Fish, if I weren’t already married I would so marry you. If Mary Matalin and James Carville can keep it together, you could marry a teabagger-symp. Eh? Right?

  37. mind your business

So people aren’t supposed to forgive each other, ever? MIND YOUR BUSINESS, PEOPLE. I also love how everyone is acting like they were there with them that night and know every little thing that happened. Heads up, YOU WEREN’T and you DON’T. Not excusing what he did, but get a clue people. You have no freaking idea what went down, stop pretending you do and can judge.

    • CranAppleSnapple

Jackass, there are medical records and photos of what happened to Rihanna. We KNOW.

      • Muffy

You don’t KNOW, so stop claiming you do.

      • CranAppleSnapple

Are you insane?! I really think you might need a brain scan.
There is physical evidence! And he admits what he did, he just keeps saying it was a “mistake” he made. He doesn’t feel guilty for what he did, but he admits he did it.

  38. I think this is a bad decision on her part. It sends a bad message to her fans. Chris Brown is human garbage, and deserves to get his head kicked in. CM Punk has already offered to do it.

It’s your choice Rihanna, I just hope he doesn’t kill you the next time.

  39. Smulllllx

What i kinda wanna know is…women are always saying ‘equal rights’ ‘women can do anything a man can do’ etc, so if we wanna be so equal, shouldn’t we be equal in every sense of the word? Yet it’s sooo much more despicable to punch a woman than punch a man, reguardless if the woman is battering you, women can give as good as they get nowadays, I dunno..
    & I’m a woman btw.

    • CranAppleSnapple

      Seriously? Jesus Christ.

A man is OBVIOUSLY more likely to be physically larger and stronger, and can do more damage. But hey, you are obviously of the ilk that thinks violence is totes fine, so have at it. Join a fight club and assert your equality, *Miss Obviously Really a Lady*.

  40. Mandy

What Chris Brown did to Rihanna was definitely wrong. Nobody can argue that it wasn’t. BUT, isn’t there such a thing as forgiveness at some point? The truth is he hasn’t done anything like that since, and if you simply don’t like his personality or the things he’s done since then, it shouldn’t be related back to what he did to her. Who knows, he may have apologized profusely to JUST her and that was acceptable to her. Maybe he was more concerned with letting HER know he’s sorry, rather than the world. EVERYONE has vices and weaknesses and makes mistakes. Unfortunately some people’s vices are way more damaging to the people in their life than other people’s vices. Some people have gambling addictions and lose their homes and ruin their family’s lives. He went to court, he took anger mgmt classes, he did what he was supposed to. If there can never be any forgiveness, then nobody judging him should ever be forgiven for their own sins. Look at yourself and ask yourself if you are perfect.

    • CranAppleSnapple

He has acted like an angry jackass ever since he attacked her, and refers to what he DID as a tragedy that happened TO him.
He angrily threw a chair at a window when asked about it.
If she is so stupid as to forgive him, that’s her business, but the rest of world does not have to. We should be very wary of him, forever more.

  41. Muffy

Attempted murder? That’s bullshit. You people are so fucking annoying with this bullshit. You care about this old ass scandal more than Chris and Rihanna and it actually involved them! Your ass wasn’t involved. Neither one dated any of you. They have moved on. They are not your poster children. They’re only 22 and 24 years old. What happened was not good for either of them, but it only happened one time. This was not something that happened all the time in their relationship. Both have said this and so have their family members. But they should not get back together in a romantic sense. They are better off as friends, which they are. They are not good for each other. Chris has a gf. You have a problem with Chris going off on twitter when people always bring it up? Well, Rihanna goes off on twitter also when people always bring it up! You would react the same way too. Brown isn’t the devil and Rihanna cannot walk on water. Rihanna could hold a press conference and saying, get over it! You people would still take this crap personally. Chris could cure HIV/AIDS and you claim he did it for himself.

    • Joe

I think most of us hate Chris Brown from the standpoint that he beat up a woman and has shown real no remorse (going so far as to lash out violently when reminded of this fact) and yet is still employed and making money from people so easily willing to forgive him, including the woman he brutalized.
