Ricardo Montalban dies at 88 (1920 – 2009)

January 14th, 2009 // 58 Comments

Ricardo Montalban of Fantasy Island and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan fame passed away today at his home in Beverly Hills. People reports:

His son-in-law Gilbert Smith tells PEOPLE that Montalban had been in declining health for months and died from “complications of advancing age.”
“He was in peace,” said Smith, who said that the actor was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. “He will be missed.”
Montalban was proceeded in death by one year by his wife of 63 years, Gorgiana Young, the younger sister of his frequent co-star Loretta Young.
“[She is] the only love of my life,” the actor said in 2004.

What a classy, debonair guy. And I’m actually not being sarcastic for once.

Rest in Peace, Ricardo.

Fuck off and give up, #2, no one’s ever going to your cheesy-ass site even if you bribe us with rich Corinthian leather and promise to send us a flash video of that dude being trampled at WalMart.
RIP, Ricardo – not for nothing, but you gave Star Trek one of the best villains it ever had. You even wore the fake chest well.

I went to school with Anita Montalban at St. Monica High School in Santa Monica. She was one year ahead of me and I remember her being such a sweet girl. She was not stuck up or even let on that she was the daughter of a famous celebrity. My heart goes out to you Anita.

Ricardo Montalban was a true gentleman, and a very classy man.

I went to school with his daughter Anita at Mt St Mary’s College in the late 60′s. She was one of the sweetest people I ever met, very down to earth and normal, despite coming from a celebrity family.

RIP Mr Montalban. You will be missed.
