Her ladyboy-like appearance aside, what’s the deal with intentionally crappy lighting in photography these days? I’m not saying that I want flat, featureless light– i don’t like that either– but this single light, harsh shadows thing. Is it postmodern? Making the photoshoot photos look blatantly like they were taking in a studio with a studio strobe? It just looks cheap and crappy.
