Patrick Swayze is rumored to have pancreatic cancer and only has five weeks to live. For the past month, the 55-year-old actor has been reportedly receiving treatment at Stanford University’s top-notch cancer center in Palo Alto. The National Enquirer reports:
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short – they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
Okay, hopefully this is a wildly exaggerated report and Patrick Swayze has a long life ahead of him. Considering the National Enquirer is the source and no major outlet is running with it yet (Excluding me. What now, TMZ?), Patrick probably just has the flu. If, however, this is true, I hope the insider, who presumably works for the hospital, gets pancreatic cancer of the eye for leaking this info. Patrick Swayze is an icon who deserves his privacy, dammit. C’mon, Road House? No bullshit; that movie will teach you more than The Bible.
UPDATE: Patrick Swayze’s publicist confirmed to TMZ that the actor has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. However, the publicist shot down the Enquirer’s claim that Patrick only has five weeks to live: “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’” Best of luck to Patrick and here’s hoping for a safe recovery.

The Enquirer got it right and the publicist did what all publicists are paid to do, namely, LIE.

He kinda looks like Vincent Price in that photo. I wish him and his family well. Cancer is such an awful thing.
A friend of mine died from pancreatic cancer in late January – he went to the doctor in september, and they basically sent him home in November to die. if you google pancreatic cancer you can read why it’s so bad and why few live once diagnosed, it attacks the spleen, the liver, the intestines, it’s a bad scene. Patrick Swayze is dying if he has pancreatic cancer – a recovery will be like a miracle.
Oh,no! I love Patrick Swayze!I don’t want him to suffer! Not him! I wish him well!He really seems the most nice sympathetic actor, u know,,even more sympathetic than Harrison Ford.
If Patrick is in the hospital as the news say, Please,Please,Please ask a Christian worker in the hospital to lead him in the sinners prayer. If he has the world here with the fame and riches of this world theyll be nothing in heaven or hell., But if he get’s reborn and accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior he’ll have eternity to rejoice.
Amen
I’m praying for Patrick, his wife and loved ones. May God have mercy and be gracious to all of you. I enjoyed his interview with Barbara Walters. It was uplifting and very courageous. I will continue to pray and may the Lord be at his side throughout the whole thing. God bless him and his family.

I think Patrick is the best dancer I’ve ever seen and dirty dancing is my favorite movie ever. How I wish I could dance with him! Don’t give up Patrick, for none of know how many days we have. I just lost a brother named Danny, a great accordian player, through cancer. He didn’t have a chance to fight it, for it snuck up on him. But I know you are a fighter. So keep on fighting. There were 18 kids in our family would you believe? Now there are 13 left and I was #13 on the family list. I think we are a special family but I guess most people think that. There are many celebrities in our world today but if I were given the chance to meet one, it would be you Patrick. I’ll keep praying for you. May God be with you and all the terminally ill. For that must be the worst illness of all, being given a diagnosis like that. Cling to your wife for the rest of your life.
