reports Paris Hilton was released from jail early this morning after serving less than five days of her already reduced 23 day sentence (her original sentence was 45 days). She’s been fitted with an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days. She was apparently released from jail due to medical reasons, although the LA County Sheriff’s department has refused to release details about the “medical issue” due to confidentiality. After the 40 days are up, the LA County Sheriff’s department says she will have “fulfilled her debt to society.”
Of course. We were fucking morons to think Paris might actually serve out her sentence. Tomorrow they’ll probably take off the ankle bracelet and issue a full apology. Then give her some sort of medal and make her President of the United States of America.

BULLSHIT. I just took a class about human rights while incarcerated and the health system is HORRIBLE. Being sick does NOT get you “excused,” it’s jail, not school.
Real men and women who have been picked up on lesser charges (like someone in their house possessed and they got charged for it too) are dying of AIDS, MDRTB, and cancer in jail or prison. Some of these are actually GOOD people just caught in hard times or bad situations, unlike Paris, who we all know is a huge selfish egotistcal bitch.
We had a former inmate come into our class and tell us the story of her friend, who got terminal cancer at age 65 and was STILL not allowed to be released TO BE WITH HER FAMILY WHEN SHE DIED. She DIED behind bars, alone. So, can Paris’ “illness” top that?
Literally, there’s no excuse. There’s no goddamn excuse at all. Everyone here who’s saying the American justice system is corrupt or fucked is totally right. This benefits no one because:
1. Now we all hate Paris 10 millions times more, which is a pretty amazing feat.
2. We all lost a little faith in our justice system, which has already been under a lot of fire recently for corruption and just lost this chance for redemption

At 26 Paris Hilton is a spoiled brat along with the rest of them but money speaks and loudly for her. A shrink that looked at her said she was on the edge of a breakdown. I just wonder how many woman in that jail are single parents and worried sick about there kids and thought they were going to have a breakdown. They didn’t receive special treatment. With house arrest she’ll be able to get her hair, nails and toes done. She’ll even get a massage to pass her time away and sleep in her own bed with fluffed pillows. And lets not forget having all her friends over for a coming home PARTY since she can’t leave. Her maid will cook and clean for her and she’ll have 2700 sq ft house to move around in. Yep, that’s really setting an example of punishment for ALL these rich, selfish, spoiled brat stars. I guess we’ll just have to wait for one of them to finally kill someone before any of them serve time and at this point I’m not even such that would make any difference. What a system.
This was the worst thing she could’ve done. Now the world is gonna really hate her! If she served her sentence and kept her mouth shut, maybe people might say “well, she’s not SO bad”. However, Ms. Hilton couldn’t even serve a week; she must have been going through camera withdrawals “OMG, no one can photograph me in jail”. Or maybe Brandon Davis was denied access to Club Hyde again and used daddy’s money to buy Paris out of jail so she can get him in? Who knows, but all I can say is people are pissed off and she will pay a career price…uh, if she actually had a career….what does she do again? Maybe a Paris lover can enlighten me.
I think that all you american people have hit the nail right on the head!!!! It is definately a joke that all she could do was 5 days in jail. She probably had a good laugh about it when she got home. The sad part is, that she will probably kill somebody next time with her behavior, and then what will they give her? 6days??? I hope that she reads this and changes her ways. It is not hip, it is not funny or trendy. It is just sad.

Instead of writing an email here, write one to the publishers of US Weekly, Star, NY Post, In Touch, stating “I will not purchase a publication with mention of Paris Hilton”. Anon, that is a good idea. However, we are so caught up in celebrity gossip that we can’t help but look. It is kinda like a train wreck or car crash. We the public or voyeurs. I for one will try my darndest not to let Paris invade my personal space: I will change the channel when I see her on television; I won’t buy those magazines; I will no longer be coming to the superficial. I am doing a celebrity enema. If all Americans did this they’d probably get out more and we wouldn’t be such an obese nation. Trust me, there is more to life than Paris’s World.
