Nicole Kidman: No more Scientology for my kids

April 18th, 2008 // 115 Comments

Nicole Kidman’s two children that she adopted with Tom Cruise, Isabella and Connor, are apparently balls deep in Scientology. Nicole, who’s Catholic, has had enough and wants her kids pulled out of the church that L. Ron built. And by built I mean made up. Page Six reports:

At the New York premiere of Ian Halperin’s film, “His Highness Hollywood,” a Scientology insider told Halperin that Kidman “wants her kids out of the church.” Halperin beat up on the faith in his book, “Hollywood Undercover,” and said he wasn’t surprised when, during the premiere, “the projector had been sabotaged.”

Nicole Kidman would rather have the kids follow a more realistic religion like Catholicism. You know, the one where a dude in a pointy hat tells people want to do from a balcony in Italy. But at least with Catholicism they don’t brainwash you to give up ridiculous amounts of cash. They just guilt you into it. Huge difference.*

The thing that atheists don’t want to admit is that there are evangelical atheists who want to convert people. Like #97. How about I don’t try to convert anybody and they don’t try to convert me. Fair deal? Also, religion has to be fair game to be made fun of so that it does not become tyrannical, like the Catholicism of the Middle Ages, Islamic extremism of some, or Scientology. If religions do not promote freedom of thought and an open exchange of ideas (like some churches of every denomination and faith, as well as the entire structure of Scientology) then they are prone to becoming cultish.

Free the kids, and free Katie Holmes! Tom Cruise can stay with his cult.

Gooder english in the article :) . I’ve been a practicing roman catholic for years and haven’t payed a dime! (Guilt trips work on only the weakest of people :( . Aside from that…… No $hit Sherlock! (I’m not the only one!)

so im guessing mr. superfish is a jew. or a darn buddhist at the most.

  5. Goon

Big difference for me here is that the Pope doesn’t know (or even think) he’s scamming people (I don’t think he does at least…. who knows?)

Nicole is probably 4 months pregnant and is wearing a lose pleated dress that hides the bump. Nicole looks like she is gaining the proper weight; unlike fat pregnant mess loser Tori Spelling; she is huge already!

i think anyone who so imersed in a “religeon” that they become fanatic about it, whether its scientology or the catholic church, you gotta be sort of stupid…you know, not very bright. it means that there are many many issue that you somehow can’t wrap your mind around logically. so what do you do? you say things like “god works in mysterious ways.” chalk it up to some devine intervention. it’s not much different than thinking the sun is a god.

  9. #77 It’s funny how if you make a negative comment about a repressive system, the goons come out telling you to shut the fuck up! (click on link for corroboration if you think this is all a lie)

So AuntieKryst,Racism is okay but knocking religion is not.How do you like this,”**** your whole religion, infact **** every religion and religious idiot in this world.”

  11. A false and offensive comparison. But much can be overlooked in the name of humour, real or attempted- of course many of the commenters have no such excuse.

Well the scientologists think they are superior to everyone like the Nazi’s tried to convince the world that the Arien Race was superior….. Scientology is not a religion its a fuckin cult and a damn evil one at that.
Poor Nicole, her kids are trapped in a completely insane and demonic cult and there is fuck all she can do about it….her devastation and heartache is immeasurable.

The cult of Scientology is absolutely some of the dumbest brainwashing crap I’ve ever read about (and I did read a lot about it in college when I had to do a presentation/report on it). L.Ron Hubbard’s own son has come out blasting it saying his father never intended on it being taken seriously; that his father was a sci-fi author and once told him the fastest way to make a million bucks was to start a religion. There’s a reason the cult is banned in a lot of western countries and there’s a political reason it’s not banned here. In any event, I’m an atheist and have been since about 20, although I was raised a Catholic. I tend to think religion is for weak-minded people (no offense to you religious folks out there) who need something to hold onto. I’ve formed my own beliefs and if anyone I knew was getting into Scientology, I’d try my hardest to convince them otherwise. I certainly don’t blame Nicole. Let Tom wait for Xenu to come!

I hope Nicole was able to get her kids out of the cult. Halperin, for his book, went undercover as a very wealthy gay actor wanting to change. He also suggests the cult does lesbian and gay actor match-ups a la Tom/Nicole. Also says that Travolta is stuck in it, because the cult has so many details of his homosexuality. No big shocker there. He still seems gay as the hills to me.

When it comes to Scientology, JUST SAY NO.

Really, Scientology is the closest thing to a totalitarian system similar to the Nazis (which is why Germany is fighting its spread in their country), that works with rewards and punishments, while in the process sucks people dry of their finances. Only very rich need apply.

In comparison, the Catholic Church was fierce at the time of the Crusade’s but the worst thing the Catholic Church will impose on you today, even if you confess killing someone, is saying a few prayers.

Halperin, while posing as an actor, got access to the higher reaches of the CoS hierarchy by claiming he was a member of the “Israeli royal family” (what a sense of humor since there is no such thing).

$cientology is not funny and cannot be compared to Catholicism, unless you’re referring to the Inquisition. I can laugh at almost everything but $cientology is scary shit. Do some research, google “Scientology” and “truth”, or Lisa Mcpherson or $cientology and deaths, or “Fair Game” or “Operation Freakout”. DO NOT GET HOOKED INTO THEIR CRAZY EVIL WORLD!!! THE LEADERS=EVIL and the Followers are losing their individuality, their money, and their lives (both literally and figuratively in some cases.)
