Here’s Andrew Garfield wearing the new Spider-Man costume on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 yesterday, and by new costume I mean they went right back to the one from the Tobey Maguire movies despite everyone liking The Amazing Spider-Man for not looking like those movies. (They also liked it for not cramming in a shit-ton of villains, so naturally the sequel has Electro, The Rhino, Norman Osborn, possibly Venom but almost definitely Black Cat.) You can also see Shailene Woodley as the new Mary Jane, so fortunately everyone agreed she should be homely and in no way be hotter than Gwen Stacy because then the audience might buy her romance with Peter Parker. “Well, my other girlfriend was hot, but she’s dead now and you have a vagina. Swing on my web?” Okay, I’m on board.

I’m sure we all actually know this isn’t the same suit as shown in the first three movies. It is similar, but the spider logo is still the different, but more importantly, its the new eye shape that has people excited.

At first I was like: “AAAAAAGH no! No! Looks WAY too professional! And I liked the old version!”
But then I was like: “Wait a second. Maybe someone gives it to him midway through the beginning of the movie.”
And now I’m like: “Huh. That’s an interesting design for the web-shooter.”
I like it better than the last costume. I never understood the gold eyes and silver trim on it.
