There are 2 Ronaldos.
1 is a bit older, he lives in Brazil, he is Brazilian, he plays this game called football for the Brazilian team. He’s an awesome footballer and helped to land Brazil on the International map for football. He was recently caught with some trannies, but all is cool as long as he continues playing well (which he’s practically retired).

There is another Ronaldo. Most people call him “C.Ronaldo.” This is short for Christiano Ronaldo. He is a very young football player. He plays for Manchester United and his home team is Portugal. He is Portugese. This is the man in the pictures. He’s also a whiny, diving, piece of trash that has lost a lot of fans for his begging on the field.

@132 Not true. I know that it’s called “soccer” in at least Australia and South Africa as well as the U.S.

The main reason Americans (even football/soccer fans) call it “soccer” is just to avoid tremendous confusion here. What if we went around pounding our fists and demanding that you call football “cricket”? I imagine it would cause some problems for if you did.

Not to mention that we don’t demand that you call boots “cleats”, pace “speed”, pitches “fields”, lorries “trucks”, flats “apartments”, bonnets “hoods” etc, etc. It’s all the same game, get over it. At least we don’t call it calcio.
