George Takei (Star Trek’s Mr. Sulu) wed his longtime partner Brad Altman yesterday at the Japanese American National Museum. The AP reports:
Wedding guests included “Star Trek” stars Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols, who served as best man and best lady, Hollywood executives, local and national government officials and the couple’s relatives from around the world.
Keeping with the multicultural theme, guests dined on Asian/Baja Californian fusion cuisine and took home Japanese tea-ceremony treats in boxes printed with the phrase: “May sweet equality live long and prosper.”

I can only assume you never graduated any school and are on mental disability. What I read was an act prohibiting teachers from instating any curriculum that may be offensive to any students and using the guideline of the state Penal code’s definition of hate crimes to define the perameters of this act.
You can’t expect someone who grew up as the smartest kid in his class who also happened to be one of the few blacks in school to believe this is a bad thing. I have been on the wrong side of some ugly situations in school. Usually, teachers trying to even the field, but what happend was I got shorted on what I earned. While this bill won’t prevent that from happening, hopefully it will give kids the courage to stand up and say, “that’s not right!”
