Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced today to 23 months in prison, according to TMZ. He pleaded guilty in August to participating in a dogfighting ring where several dogs were drowned or hung if they didn’t perform well in the fights or were injured. Well, it looks justice has been served because Michael Vick is the one in the doghouse now! Zing! Did you see that? I make it look so easy, but I’ve seen men lose a limb trying to dish out that level of wordplay.

#17, most pits are put to sleep when they’re confiscated because if there’s cause to take them away, usually they’re too dangerous to adopt out. And I don’t think that painless injectable euthanasia is the same as drowning, hanging, starving, and abusing dogs to death at all.
I am VERY glad that this piece of crap is getting jail time (though not nearly enough). Maybe this will serve to make people think twice about participating in this “sport”. Asshole.

I, for one, am not outraged about the dogfighting. not everyone values dogs as much as the average suburbanite might, and I don’t think we should all have to treat dogs like they’re a human life…but it does seem pretty sick the way he killed them.
this is the best thing that could have happened to vick, though…before he got arrested, people were wondering if he was a bust as a franchise quarterback. now that he’s behind bars, people are talking about him like he was the second coming of Joe Montana and its such a tragedy his career is over. Jail/death makes people forget how much you suck.

The dogs that Vick killed had been beaten and ripped up from fighting and then killed with Vick and friends’ bare hands. Animals at the SPCA are put to sleep humanely. The reason people don’t get all worked up about that is because the SPCA doesn’t brutally kill them.
