Mary-Kate Olsen was hospitalized with a kidney infection yesterday. She went to the emergency room of a New York hospital where she was admitted. Her people say she’s doing fine and will recover soon, according to People:
“Mary-Kate got a kidney infection,” says rep Nicole Caruso. “She’s resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so.”
During the winter months, do the Olsen twins hire somebody to catch them in case it’s a windy day? People get hospitalized for kidney infections now? So much changes over 6 months. I got medication and sent home when I had a kidney infection. Damn celebrities, can’t even remember to take medication and only drink water or cranberry juice on their own?

48 is right – kidney infections (or pyelonephritis) are usually caused by ascending infection from the urinary tract. UTIs in young women are usually caused by lots of sex!
And kidney infections are actually pretty serious, women in their 20s ARE often hospitalised with them and you need intravenous antibiotics. It’s not something to be sneered at, it can cause kidney scarring and problems later in life.
Believe it or not, doctors read this website….

um you know you get kidnney infections from untreated bladder infections, which you usually get from unclean sex, so maybe maybe she and her partner should shower on occasion…i always wondered why her hair looked so greasy
I hate defending celebs as much as the next person, BUT:
Bladder infections are not exclusively caused by sex and people can and DO get them at young ages. One of my friends has gotten bladder infections since she was 8 years old and she’s not sleeping around.
Even if Mary Kate IS having sex, that doesn’t mean she’s dirty or that the person she’s doing it with is. Anyone can get a UTI from sex.
Maybe it’s a new diet, were she is not allowed to pee?

A kidney infection is often caused by an untreated bladder infection (also called a UTI). Women tend to get UTIs because the female anatomy is more suseptible to infection. It’s also been said that thong underwear can cause UTIs – I’ll let you figure that out. Anyway, I can’t ever decide if the Olson’s are really skinny. They both always wear really baggy, poufy clothing, so you can’t ever really see their bodies. MK gave an interview saying the pap will never catch her in a bikini. It seems like they cover their bodies so we can’t see how skinny they really are. Maybe that’s a good thing – these chicks have always looked like aliens to me.
