Madonna’s entire career has been based on the idea of pushing boundaries and selling sex. Unlike a career based on artistry, this is a young person’s game. As such, it should be thought of in the same light as, say, a professional athlete. You have your run, but at some point around 40 or so (in the very best case) you are just too old and have to retire.

My thoughts: Madonna, like many other celebs, need to be reminded of what is ‘age and body appropriate’ sexy. She also needs to be reminded of what is sexy for HER, not for others. I remember that when the Sex Book came out, Madonna was a the peak of her career and age wise, appropriate for all out sex book. I recall that when I saw her in Evita, I thought THIS is the way to do sexy at 30/40 years. Same could be said for when she was doing the video Take a Bow and Bad Girl.
But now, I think Madonna forgot what is appropraite for a) her body and b) her age. She is very muscular, and not in the androgenous, hot way. She needs the camera to hit her soft angles. If you do nudes, take feminine poses and soft light. If she wants a harder, sexier look, she needs to cover up. Be it all white or all black, but more coverage. The pictures above would work well for someone like Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox or Demi Moore, who are by nature curvier and sensual and have a warm look. Madonna has a very ‘cold’ look, so a sexy look would be something that makes her look softer.
That’s just my two cents on the issue. I do think that sadly, she looks terribly old in the last picture. She is not terribly old or terribly looking. But, the way the photo was taken and how the light hits her face, she looks horrible.
