Law enforcement sources say Lindsay Lohan is not going to be charged with cocaine possession in connection with her two DUI arrests. TMZ reports:
We’re told charges may be filed tomorrow, and the D.A. is leaning toward rejecting three possible felonies. Sources say the D.A. almost certainly will not file cocaine charges in connection with her DUI bust Memorial Day weekend in Beverly Hills. As for her July 24 arrest in Santa Monica, the D.A. could charge her with felony cocaine possession, and bringing cocaine into a correctional facility – also a felony. But we’re told that the D.A. is inclined not to file those felony charges either.
I’m pretty sure Lindsay could roll up the Constitution and use it to snort a mile-long line in front of the entire Supreme Court and still not get charged with coke possession. Maybe it’s out of respect for her family’s proud heritage of drug use. Lohans have been snorting coke since they crashed their schooner into the Mayflower. People might question the historical accuracy of this post, but would I actually write something that wasn’t true? I don’t think so. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go have sex with Wonder Woman – in outer space!

Both are complete fuckups who have made decisions that would have caused very different consequences for rest of us (jail for Lindsay and FUCKING FIRED for Bush). But both are protected, unlike us – money and fame for Lindsay, power and money for Bush. It’s complete and utter bullshit. You can say whatever bitter things you want about “American justice” in terms of Lindsay or Paris or Nicole, but it’s all petty in scale. If any of us screwed up as badly as Bush and caused such widespread harm to others, we’d be in a shallow grave near the river by now.

I agree that the criminal justice system in this country (and esp. California) is pretty skewed, but I recently read that Pete Doherty, a major fuck-up duggie, keeps avoiding jail time in England. It absolutely blows my mind. The guy has been caught with drugs so many times, yet these judges keep slapping him on the wrist.
TMZ probably should have talked to someone who actually works at the DA’s office and not the counter boy at Pink’s Hot Dogs on this source.
Every other news agency on earth picked up on this and everyone called bullshit after they, ya know, talked to the DA.
If by some miracle, it does come to pass, there is going to be a bigger shit storm of outrage than there was for Paris getting out early. I think the DA learned their lesson from that one.
