Lindsay Lohan Didn’t Show Up For Community Service Yesterday

On Monday night, Lindsay Lohan posted on Instagram that she was “happy to be home in NYC” which made it seem like she was on schedule to start her community service at Duffield Children’s Center Tuesday morning. The school even sent out a letter to parents warning them that Lindsay was coming and presumably provided contact numbers for the CDC and a pamphlet on how to tell if your child is a drug mule. So naturally Lindsay was really in London and didn’t arrive in New York until yesterday afternoon completely beefing her first day of community service. NY Daily News reports:

Lohan, who has lived in London since late last year to perform in the David Mamet play “Speed the Plow,” landed in New York Tuesday afternoon, forcing school officials at Duffield Children’s Center in Fort Greene to fumble for excuses to explain the star’s absence on her first day of class.
The tardiness left a source familiar with Lohan’s predicament “speechless,” especially considering the actress claimed she was “home in nyc” in social media posts Monday—even though she was most likely still in London.
She was expected to pick up the slack and begin work Wednesday.

According to TMZ, Lindsay checked into a hotel within walking distance of the daycare so she won’t get stuck in traffic because clearly that’s the issue here and not Lindsay Lohan having the decision-making skills of a titmouse on coke. It’s totally traffic.

UPDATE: And she showed up two hours late. Of course.
