Ke$ha’s ‘Die Young’ Pulled Off The Air Because.. Well, Yeah

Ke$ha Die Young
WATCH: Ke$ha - 'Die Young'

Unfortunately not out of respect for talent and good taste, Ke$ha‘s “Die Young” was pulled off the air in light of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, according to Page Six, because it repeatedly uses the words “die young” in the chorus, so I can see how someone might not want to listen to that. And while normally I’m against knee-jerk censorship like this, less people are hearing Ke$ha’s music now, so I don’t see how that’s not a good thing that makes us richer as a nation. In fact, Teen Mom Jenelle will probably dive into traffic once she finds out, so we should probably do things like this more often. I’m thinking every third Tuesday.

They did a good job hiding her Grandpa body in this. Also, i’m pretty sure she has running bet with Lady Gaga about who can have more Occult imagery in a single video.

We get it, we get it, you love Satan.

    • Satan

      Don’t drag me into this.

    • Randal

      Give. Me. A. Break!

Look, the deaths of all those young children isn’t good for the music industry with the money they lose, but going as far as to pull a song? Please!

Ke$ha has rocked the airwaves since she stepped out into the spotlight, pushing Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber from the top spot, and in no way, shape or form, does her hit single “Die Young” have anything to do with the shootings.

      Talk about overreacting!

      • “Ke$ha has rocked the airwaves since she stepped out into the spotlight”

Are you fucking high? What real person talks like that and about fucking Ke$ha no less. This chick looks like a retarded female version of John Travolta (ie like regular John Travolta) and her “music” is abysmal. If anything, people are just using the shooting to get that shit off the airwaves she has been allegedly rocking.

  2. USDA Prime McBeef

I’m about ready for another mass murder so we can stop giving a shit about the last one.

    • Rico Jones

Tell me about it. This was a real tragedy but the news coverage at this point is down right disgusting. Every channel has been covering it non stop. All the news people act sad but in reality they love every minute of this tragedy. I believe Bill Maher calls it disaster porn. Sickening.

      • Smapdi

I’d have gone with “grief porn” for this occasion, but okay. What’s particularly vile is every media personality exploiting grief-struck families in hopes of reaping a soundbite so they can push their faces onto television even more.

      • grobpilot

The families and individuals can make the decision not to talk to those fucking leeches if they don’t want to. If this shit happened to me, I’d breaking a lot of goddamn cameras.

      • Remember, “If it bleeds, it leads.”

Wait a sec… wouldn’t that put every woman in the headlines once a month?

  3. Cock Dr

Extraordinary musical talent…is nowhere to be found in this video.

  4. ThisWillHurt

So now we can associate tragedy with shitty music? You better keep looking over your shoulder, Justin Bieber’s latest single, because you’ll never be safe. Ever.

  5. Ralphy May Cahill

    Dime store hooker

  6. Rico Jones

Why do we always suffer from such knee jerk reactions? I’m not a fan of her music but pulling her song is just ridiculous. Are radio stations also pulling Only The Good Die Young? Probably not.

  7. That song is pretty much close to damn near fair to middlin’.

  8. After 9/11, radio stations stopped playing Drowning Pool’s “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor”.

  9. the whole enchilada

My ears, they’re bleeding. Eyes too.

  10. Mel

Yeah, well the radio station I was listening to yesterday did this whole long spiel about the Newtown tragedy and how it’s affected them and then cut from that segment into “Pumped Up Kicks.” Someone didn’t think that one out.

  11. cc

I think they should pull all her music off the air as a precaution.

  12. Hey, how come Warner Bros. isn’t pushing Gangster Squad back another 3-4 months?

Because at this rate, it will never, ever open.

I’m not sure that’s a bad idea. Have you seen the trailer?

  13. The Right

It’s not censorship, it’s called exercising property rights.

  14. They always do shit like this in the wake of tragedy and they always will.

  15. Sliver

There’s something very unsanitary about the picture above.
