Kanye West is now involved in a new film inspired by his music. The movie, in which he will appear, will be composed of several short stories, each written and directed separately. These shorts will be linked by a central narrative, ultimately creating a “multi perspective portrait of the United States as seen through the eyes of West and several film-makers”.
You know, this movie could be pretty good. I

Feed_Me_Chocolate | March 16, 2006 at 2:25 pm
YES! Give me MORE Kanye! The world can never have enough egomaniacs!
maggixial | March 16, 2006 at 2:25 pm
*yawn* the only interesting thing you’ll be able to see is Kayne’s head growing ten times bigger in size.
Jayne | March 16, 2006 at 2:30 pm
I was afraid he’d pull a fitty cent on us and create a fake autobiographical film.
bella1218 | March 16, 2006 at 2:36 pm
i can’t stand him. i mean, really, the sound of his voice makes me insane. he is so goddamn dumb.
inspector11 | March 16, 2006 at 2:37 pm
he comes from a tough cul de sac i hear.
gogoboots | March 16, 2006 at 2:52 pm
hmmm who knows where its gonna go…im not really into him, he’s not the most talented of the bunch. i’d take mos def any day, now that man is HOT!
InsomniActress | March 16, 2006 at 2:58 pm
Wait wait wait… Do I hear a movie musical coming on? I mean, after that Grammy performance, you know this cat is seriously into Broadway. He’s all drama.
I’d like to see a nice West Side Story style grunge match between rival rap posses. If they can get “Jesus Walks” and “Golddigger” both fitting nicely into the plotline, a Golden Globe can’t be far out of reach.
MortyFishbein | March 16, 2006 at 2:59 pm
To have a rapper come from somewhere other than the proverbial hood is refreshing. A rapper that can extol the virtures of Brooks Brothers, a Roth IRA and anorexia . . . that’s a talent you just can’t find anywhere but a Orange Julius at a Tanger Outlet in Midfield, Pennsylvannia.
BlackMamba | March 16, 2006 at 3:15 pm
this guy needs to be terminated…he is too full of himself
Derek Hail | March 16, 2006 at 3:16 pm
Kind of reminds me of Sin City a little bit. Sin city was tied together by a central theme, it was the bar.
I wonder if he’s going to be a good actor or if he’s going to be another Ice Cube. Just “DAYUM” terrible.

CCClub | March 16, 2006 at 3:29 pm
Dude had it rough. I don’t know if you ever seen him in real life, but he has been wearing Bill Huxtables hand me down sweaters for years.
Captain Awesome | March 16, 2006 at 3:37 pm
MTV Rappers need to stick to being ig’nant.
Sister Morphine | March 16, 2006 at 3:38 pm
Kanye West is a pretentious assface.
Grphdesi23 | March 16, 2006 at 3:59 pm
Rappers do not like Kanye West.
UNWASHEDMASSES | March 16, 2006 at 4:10 pm
Why is it always the most talentless hacks that want to stretch themselves thin doing everything under the sun? Nicole Ritchie has a book out, now this. It will be fun kicking back and watching such an egomaniac crash and burn. When the movie comes out and bombs miserably it’ll be because of white America, the same blame for when his follow-up album fails to live up to the hype. Hip! Hop! Hooray! This generation finally has its M.C. Hammer!
Xarah | March 16, 2006 at 4:13 pm
Once again, I pray for a drive-by on this asshat.
Tantrum | March 16, 2006 at 4:54 pm

#6: Mos Def is DEEELISH!
Kanye West needs to get lost! He’s a fucking egomaniac!

Astriastar | March 16, 2006 at 5:47 pm
“creating a ‘multi perspective portrait of the United States as seen through the eyes of West’…”
Oh, goodie. We all know how he sees the United States…I’m sure this won’t be racist toward whitey at all… Puhleez!
seaglass | March 16, 2006 at 7:02 pm
Note to self, avoid the cinema at all costs
ESQ | March 16, 2006 at 7:36 pm
Maybe he will put George Bush in his movie? Then again maybe not, “George Bush hates black people.”
Jonboy in SF | March 16, 2006 at 8:44 pm
God help us…he’s been watching R. Kelly’s epic “out of the closet” videos and wants to copy him by making a movie version starring himself. Will the big screen be wide enough for Kanye’s gi-normous head??
Pez_D_Spencer | March 16, 2006 at 9:46 pm
What’s the over/under on people getting shot at theaters showing the movie? 6? 10?
hafaball | March 16, 2006 at 10:58 pm
Shot by a gun? 3. But it seems like the movie industry has so little ideas, they’re going to start making every song ever made into a movie. I can’t wait for “I Kissed My Woman with My Fist.”
MustangLaura | March 16, 2006 at 11:59 pm
Kanye West is now involved in a new film inspired by his music. What an ass …. i can see the film now ……”then there was hurricane katrina .. and i said oh shit its hurricane katrina then i went to a party that was about hurricane katrina trina trina trina….” sing that to the tune of R-Kelly Traped In The Closet
Lavinia the Vainglorious | March 17, 2006 at 12:25 am
Kanye should give motivational speeches at treament centres for anorexia and depression. He’d show everyone how to get a massive ego and self esteem. That would be a great public service.
He should also spraypaint more women gold. That stunt was awesome. Nothing shows a rapper’s success better than bling and hoochies. He totally upped his game by having hoochies that looked like they were made of bling.
mrschickee | March 17, 2006 at 1:42 am
LOL @14 “Kanye West is a pretentious assface.”
I would totally buy that bumpersticker.
Fatty Boom-Batty | March 17, 2006 at 3:07 am
I think he hates the fact he is black, so he has to bring everyone else down. Black people, as a rule, don’t even like his music. However, he is still a dumb nigger…
CheekyChops | March 17, 2006 at 4:06 am
He’s a wanker.
Jacq | March 17, 2006 at 10:26 am
He’s one step away from thinking he’s Tom Cruise.
manunited | March 17, 2006 at 11:42 am
Why does this moron have a career? Oh that’s right, because suburban wiggers think he’s fresh yo. If there was one person I was allowed to throw off of a cliff into the largest pile of dogshit, only to be eaten by Paris Hilton’s gaping vag it would be this cumsucker. And I wouldn’t mind pushing Jamie Foxx over said cliff as well.
bella1218 | March 17, 2006 at 11:50 am
#32…great! HAHA! add P.Diddy to the list because he can’t decide on a name for himself. after they are eaten by paris, the MACK truck (without the person driving it, of course) should be sent over the cliff on top off them to ensure the death of paris and her herpes.
bella1218 | March 17, 2006 at 11:51 am
the MACK truck that kills Tom Cruise for shutting off the South Park episode…just to clarify.
babyblueeyes | March 17, 2006 at 2:27 pm
i’m tired of his “we hate black people” shit. white people don’t have a whole month designated to honor all the shit they did, and you don’t see W.E.T (white entertainment television) do you. they would shit their pants.
Big Fig | March 17, 2006 at 4:06 pm
You guys get every other month that isn’t black history month…or hispanic history month…or asian history month… well, any other month that isn’t taken. By all means, lobby for a white history month, I’m sure the KKK would definitely agree with you, but that’s probably not the audience you’re going for ( I’m not implying you’re racist ). Political correctness is a bitch, there’s really no way to demand a white history month without offending somebody.
George Bush is the only person he accused of not caring about black people, not white people in general. Hey, I’m not defending him, I think he’s got an ego problem, just stating the facts.
PS- CMT is the equivalent of white entertainment television, so you have nothing to complain about.
manunited | March 18, 2006 at 1:12 pm
#36 At least CMT is called Country Music Television, not White Trailer Trash Television. There is a difference and there is no need to have to clearly label & differentiate the way BET does.
And you wouldn’t like it if we referred to you as “You guys” or “you people” or “you blacks, hispanics, whatever the fuck other people are”… last I checked we were all people and color has nothing to do with it.
We all know it’s about cocks & balls anyways.
The_Third_Chimp | March 18, 2006 at 1:14 pm
Nicely said Big Fig.
EHsed | March 18, 2006 at 5:38 pm
All this Kanye bashing is really fucked up. I’m not saying the guy’s not a egomaniac, but shit it’s like anytime 30-year old white guys or fucking mallrat 16-year old suburban chicks see a black guy who’s something other than a bling, bling yo, yo, yo gansta type in the media, you get all paranoid and defensive. It’s like you can’t stand to see a black guy who’s not one-dimensional and who is actually intelligent and talented beyond the stereotypical images you feel comfortable with. The guy might be an ass, but where the fuck do you all LIVE anyway? Do you live such sheltered lives???
And for the fuck all who said that black people don’t even like Kanye as a “rule,” what black people rule making convention was this established at because I must have missed that one.
manunited | March 18, 2006 at 8:41 pm
#39 and those that share the sentiments –
it has nothing to do with the color of skin and please stop making it out to be the issue. It fucking annoys the shit out of me when the fucking race card gets used every time there are negative comments posted when the story relates to minorities. There are many negative pieces written about whites, asians, hispanics & Britney Spears everyday on here.
I personally think his music sucks ass and his attitude is megalomaniacal. I will say the same about “white” people too but this post happens to be about him, not Tom Cruise. You dig his shit & that’s cool then say so & say something funny please. Get off the race thing & move on.
EHsed | March 18, 2006 at 9:37 pm
manunited – I’m not the one who brought race into the conversation, first of all. There were quite a few comments (your previous one included) before mine that brought up the subject of race – even one that referred to him by “n*gger” (and I don’t give a shit if this poster was black, white or other).
You even wrote, “There is a difference and there is no need to have to clearly label & differentiate the way BET does.” And all of a sudden I’m “pulling the race card.” So, we’ll stop people from celebrating St. Patrick’s Day – or any religious holidays too because if race doesn’t matter, then religion heritage shouldn’t either, right?
Wouldn’t it be great if everyone saw everyone else as just “human” and not defined by race? Too bad that’s not the way the world operates. And what’s so bad about celebrating diversity and honoring different cultures?
Flint | March 19, 2006 at 6:05 am
Personally I’d rather have a dirty sanchez than listen to his music, let alone watch his movie.
JacksonWallace | March 20, 2006 at 5:19 am
First off, Kanye West will never hold a candle to Ice Cube in the rap department, regardless of how good either one of them is as an actor. Secondly, crap, I mean, rap, is a long-dead musical form and should be retired immediately. Only uneducated people and those under 25 can stand it. Old rap was fine and had political content. new rap is sad with weak production. Kanye did mouth off to the president and the media. Thats what he should do more of. He should form his own government, and really put his money where his mouth is.
Then the world might remember him. but playing the next XXX probably wont earn him a spot in the pantheon of history.
babyblueeyes | March 21, 2006 at 5:42 pm
Just to make a few things clear…I am not racist. If you want to praise every race and background there is thats fine and dandy. I was just saying that if people had an all white awards show, all white t.v.channel, or if someone designated May to be white history month…shit would hit the fan. But Hey, that’s the way it goes right? Alright…enough of that.
e | June 8, 2007 at 3:36 pm
good example of how, if you let this loser get away with one thing she is just going to keep pushing. Laws are for the poor people, after all.
