It’s a Friday before a holiday weekend, so what the hell? Let’s talk about John McCain (Hey, he’s a celebrity too!) and his sans penis vice presidential pick today: Alaskan governor Sarah Palin. Here’s the word from Reuters:
Palin, 44, a self-described “hockey mom,” is a conservative first-term governor of Alaska with strong anti-abortion views, a record of reform and fiscal conservatism and an outsider’s perspective on Washington.
“She’s exactly who I need. She’s exactly who this country needs to help me fight the same old Washington politics of me first and country second,” McCain told a roaring crowd of 15,000 supporters in Dayton, Ohio.
So what do you think: Awesome? Bad? We’re straight fucked? She looks like Tina Fey? Cheap political ploy? Where’s Alaska? I’d hit it? I’ll let you guys handle the deep intellectual discourse. And people say this site isn’t informative. In your face, entire mainstream media!

@98
Lol, You must be gay because from your post I’d say you hate all women.
#98: I’m pretty sure managing a Burger King is about 100 times harder than what she does.
Aww c’mon folks it’s all a fun show after all! It don’t really matter who wins the agenda is on the table and it will be followed whether the president likes it or not. This woman was obviously chosen for no reason other than to balance out the Dems radicalism of offering a woman and a black. Nothing more.
What will be done will be done for Global Corporations because through the Trilateral Commision, Bilderbergers, Council of Foreign Relations the Zionist Agenda will be served. Surely you stupid motherfuckers know that.
It’s now transparent with this move. McCain did not pick this bitch for any intelligent reason. She’s a prop.
We are all fish caught in a net. There just aint enough Ocean to get away from it anymore whether or not you are aware of what is going on (it is probably too late how could we resist?) is immaterial.
Yeah yeah I know I am a moron and a psychopath. All wars are true and just and have nothing to do with lies, corruption, brutal invasion to steal the resources of the weak by the strong. Fly that totem (flag) high and be proud! Kill the enemy of the rich (you igonorant losers) ye mighty righteous poor (for the almighty rich)!!!!
May God (not the eye ball pyramid Horus guy please) help us all!
Vote Old Man McCain for more poverty and Neoconservative agendas.
Or the other phony what’s it matter in the end?
right fury: too bad almost everyone in that little list you cobbled together of people who should be put on an island to die are also usually misogynists and would rather die than vote for a woman.
at #96:
Awe…. poor thing…… I guess you don’t understand that Bill [Blye] Clinton was a governor in Arkansas….. where your sister and brother are raising their kids. So was George Bush [Texas], and Reagan [California]….. go cry to your mommy, this is important to us grownups.
@68 & 69 – Don’t presume I was defending her or that I necessarily believe that the allegations against her are false. Show me a politician who hasn’t been investigated for corruption, in their own state or abroad. However, I did find it interesting that she talked frequently about the investigation prior to most of the country/her state even knowing about it or understanding what was going on. That isn’t common practice with politicians – they usually keep their damn mouths shut until they’re “allowed” to address the subject. She didn’t wait for permission. That’s all.
The way I stated it was defnitely off – and thank you #68 for recognizing the real point I was trying to make. People who vote based on party and party alone are more ignorant than people who don’t vote at all. (I swear to God if any of you start crying about how your “vote doesn’t matter and it comes down to the Electoral College so you’re just not going to vote at all” I’m going to blow up the internet.)
I’m so on the fence with this f’ing election it’s not even funny.
@100 KimW
Are you saying that a women can’t have a child AND a career? Surely you arent saying that right? Because I believe in women and support them in whatever they do. Step out of the dark ages.
Any of you liberals who truly believe the government is broken and needs fixing should be wetting your pants over McCain/Palin. Both have solid records of blocking earmarks and pork spending and reforming corrupt politics.
Ah, but that’s right. Liberals are, by their nature, hypocrites. So please, go ahead and vote for a junior senator with no background of anything but giving speeches, with his racist, career politician running mate. Go team!
Bill [Blythe] Clinton
oops, he means nothing to me anyways
I just love how Obama etal. are attacking for lack of experience. Sheesh, she’s got more executive experience than Obama, Biden AND McCain combined. Best of all, though, she hunts moose. I can just see all the metrosexuals for Obama clenching their butt cheeks in fear.
And Down’s Syndrome babies are really no different from other babies. The problems are down the road when his disability keeps him at a child level. Of course, Obama believes in post-birth abortion anyway. He’d probably try to kill her baby if he could.
@bros
That’s an awfully hipocritical post there bros. You made negative generalizations about and entire religion? YOU RACIST!
Liberals: Can’t live with ‘em, can’t find a place for all the bodies. Oh wait, CANADA!
Move out you fucks.
Anyone who is Anti-Abortion should go fuck themselves and die.
@112 – I’ve had a SINGLE abortion, and I think that anyone who uses it as a form of birth control should go fuck themselves and die. There’s a middle ground there, and someone needs to find it.
to whoever thought I was gay because I hate all women. I am a woman, retard, which is why this pathetic excuse for one is an insult to me. she hasnt moved out of the dark ages except to accidentally win the race against murkowski. alaskan politics are so incredibly fucked up and stupid that you dont even have to be educated or experienced to do anything. she won in a fluke because she is conservative, christian, likes guns and huntin’ shit and has stage presence from her pageants. ick. everyone knows alaska isnt a real state where things like real elections take place and where real politicians exist. she is the equivalent of a sock puppet on sesame street in terms of what she does to govern or in terms of what she knows about the rest of the world. it is so isolated up there and she has been there her whole life and has no idea how things are in the lower 48. have you seen any other pictures of her? she is still wearing the mid 1990′s soccermom hairdo because she hasnt gotten the memo yet that that style needs to be updated once a decade or so. and have you seen the pictures of her wearing a gigantic dad animal shawl or something around her shoulders speaking to the AK state legislators? what a freaking joke. she isnt even from this century.
Look, it’s simple. The role of the VP candidate during a presidential campaign is to do all the hardball stuff, so the top of the ticket doesn’t look “unpresidential”. Cheney absolutely killed Edwards at that, since he loved being Darth Vader while Edwards wanted everybody to love him (apparently with some success…). But what will Palin do? Make direct, aggressive, negative charges against Obama? (yeah, everybody loves to see a woman acting like that…) And say what, that he lacks experience? Even if she manages to say that with a straight face, somebody in the room will crack up and it’ll end up on the sound bite. This choice forces McCain to make all the direct negative attacks himself, and nobody wants to vote for the angry old man.
Sound like a VP to you?
1) Was in a Miss Alaska Beauty Pageant in 1984
2) Journalism Bachelors Degree (? really, that’s all I need to be a world leader?)
3) Had a child only a few months ago, and he has Down’s Syndrome
4) Wants to club baby polar bears to make way for drilling in Alaska
5) Wants to teach Creationism in school
6) Wants to throw out Roe vs. Wade
7) Basically anti-gay
8) Lost in the 2002 Alaska Lieutenant Governor’s race (she couldn’t even get VP governor)
9) resigned from his long-held U.S. Senate seat in mid-term to become governor, Palin interviewed to be his possible successor. Murkowski appointed his daughter, then-Alaska State Representative Lisa Murkowski INSTEAD.
10) Even her own party leaders failed to support her run for the 2006 Governor’s election.
11) Her husband actually WORKS for the oil companies
12) Currently under investigation for possible abuse of power after she dismissed the Commissioner of Public Saftey for not firing her former brother-in-law
13) Palin later admitted that members of her staff had made about two dozen contacts with public safety officials about the trooper, including at least one conversation that could appear to be an attempt to pressure the commissioner.
14) Holds a lifetime membership with the NRA
ALL THIS CAN BE FOUND ON HER OWN SITE AND ON WIKIPEDIA. I DIDN’T HAVE TO MAKE ANY OF THIS STUFF UP.
Wow. Here was I hoping McCain was a closet women’s rights supporter as people are always hinting. Palin is the WORST type of woman politician. This has crushed whatever faith I hoped to have in him. And to think he’s trying to manipulate women into supporting him with that choice! Joe Biden seems alright but I’d have loved to see Hilary take on Palin. She would have destroyed her. They’re like two different species.
Someone said “Hillary had a chance because she’s perceived as a total hard-ass aggressive manly woman. European leaders like Margaret Thatcher are exactly the same type”
Very good point but I don’t know if “manly” is the word I’d use, Thatcher was more “genderless”. Benazir Bhutto was undeniably physically attractive but again – the three have/had an aura of seriousness and focus that this beauty queen does not have. They looked pro-active, not passive. Pitchers, not catchers, if you will. Palin looks like a total passive bottom.
strategically, makes sense. Especially because when all her corruption stuff comes out theyre gonna CRY sexism drawing alot of hillary supporters. Is it enough to get the W? Hopefully not but its a tight race. Go Obama
what the fuck LenS? your post made absolutely no sense at all. lay off the meth.
107. Right Fury : WHAT?! No, I’m not saying that, but this isn’t just “some career”….she has the potential of becoming the next PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. She has the potential to one day be in a position to serve that office, don’t get me wrong, but NOW is not the time! DON’T misconstrue my words to make yourself look good.
The important thing to remember Americans is your country is fucked either way. Both parties are corrupt and controlled by big money and big oil so who really gives a shit which person gets in. They are BOTH THE SAME PERSON. You Americans are just too fucking stupid and ignorant to realize it. Here’s an idea, read a fucking book once in a while instead of watching the news with Geraldo Rivera.
@116 – I’m not saying your argument doesn’t have valid points, but WIKIPEDIA? Really? Citing that as a point of reference pretty much sucks all credibilty from your statements.
thanxx
shep…… why dont you and Curly, Mo, Larry go punch each other in the balls
“And Down’s Syndrome babies are really no different from other babies”
Not true. Down Syndrome babies sort of develop in slow motion, so if you think an infant needs his or her mom for at least the first year, in the case of a Down Syndrome baby it’s more like 2 years. If you don’t think an infant needs his or her mom, then it’s no problem. But I was under the impression that among other beliefs, conservatives think that a mother’s traditional role is sacred, especially in the first years of a child’s life, and it’s not a role to be outsourced to daycare (or nannies). This mom will give her special needs infant ZERO time because it’s 24/7 campaigning from here on in, with very little time for a “quick hop home to Alaska.” If McCain wins, there’s not going to be any free time for 4 more years, especially since VPs are traditionally sent as representatives to various meetings and ceremonies in foreign countries (other than Cheney, who’s been much too busy running the country).
If you’re a conservative I don’t see how you can support her anti-family choice. It’s supposed to be God, family, country, in that order. Or are all those beliefs just bullshit after all?
Does McCain think she’ll gather up all of the Hillary supporters? That’s insulting.
Dude is 72 years old. He’s had cancer 4 times. If he get elected and dies, I’m shipping off to a saner county.
I’m Alaskan in Fairbanks and was absolutely floored by this mornings news. I’m disappointed to see that Sarah would accept a VP offer. However at the same time I’m incredibly excited for her. My disappointment is due to the fact that I didn’t want to share our state leader with the rest of the nation. As an independent voter I swear no allegiance to any political party. Instead I vote for who I believe is right for the job. She ran on a platform to be transparent and not be influenced by third party. She’s successfully held up to her promise and we Alaskans have been better for it. Her only blemish has been the state trooper firing fiasco, but in the greater scheme of things that’s minuscule. Regardless she has maintained transparency and has allowed a full investigation to look into those allegations. Her only draw back for the nation is that no one knows her. We do, and Alaskans love her. She is a breath of fresh air that we need in our governing leaders. Gov. Palin has my full support and I wish her the best in her future political endeavors.
to 126 Boris…..:
A whole new COUNTY, thats like a whole 10 miles……
idiot
Republican…Alaska…oil…hmmm, I see where this is going
Is anyone concerned that she has a four month old? In this situation you either suck as a mom or suck as a VEEP. So either way, she’s useless to me. Any mother making this decision is a selfish ladder climber. Call me old school but that kid shouldn’t be a sacrificial lamb.
@100 KimW
By the way, the minimum age for president is 35:
http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#A2Sec1
to LS #130:
NO, I’m not concerned, she has a husband that can take care of the newborn. She has made smart choices in her life to have a secure home. Unlike your sweet precious Obama, who’s mom decide to have a child with an abandoning male figure.
“Unlike your sweet precious Obama, who’s mom decide to have a child with an abandoning male figure.”
Yeah, that’s definitely one to pin on Obama, he never should have decided to be born to those parents.
“she has a husband that can take care of the newborn”
lmao@conservatives. As if this is the type of thing you’d say in any other situation. Look, do you believe in traditional roles or not? If you think dads are just as well suited to take care of babies as moms, why don’t you all move out to San Francisco?
Here are your choices:
Young black guy, too little experience + elderly white male washington insider.
-OR-
Young white woman, too little experience + elderly white male washington insider.
Hmmmmm…..what to do, what to do……
#134 – this is just the beginning. Conservatives will tie themselves up in knots while trying to explain why Palin is experienced enough (as a potential president) while Obama is not, and why Palin is making the correct choices as a mother. I just hope that somewhere there’s a transcript of a speech McCain made about the importance of traditional family values.
haha @ #135…so true.
she looks like Peggy Hill
Well, it didn’t take long for the insiders to blab. Apparently absolutely nobody in the McCain campaign knew about the choice until the last minute. It was a true “maverick” moment for McCain – he did that way on purpose and he loved doing it. Except…some of the campaign folks aren’t doing a great job of masking how pissed off they are with the choice and the way he handled it. That’s all you have to know.
a woman who isn’t pro-choice… just turned me WAY the fuck off. if they get into office, they’ll set us back 50 years.
Great choice John McCain! I can’t wait to see you win this election with the first woman Vice President in the United States of America! This woman has way more experience then Obama and his campaign is so low and dirty to come out commenting that she has no experience HAHAHAHA!!!!! Obama needs to look in the mirror. Community service and a brand new Senator that’s it!!!!
Obama doesn’t have a chance with his phony, fake unrealistic bullshit plan. Has anyone forgotten about how he attended Wrights racist church for 20 years? This man is such a phony! His speech was just the same old crap he always says. I can’t wait to hear Barack “Apollo” Obama speak without his teleprompters at the debates with McCain. McCain is going to whoop his ass! And fuck this racist crap everyone keeps pulling. The “Messiah” Obama had several speeches where he brought race into this election not McCain. QUOTED BY OBAMA: Did they mention that I’m black? What an asshole for even bringing that shit up! Race has nothing to do with this election. It has to do with having a good leader that can support this nation and keep us secure against the evils of this world and that person is JOHN MCCAIN:)
Let’s face it Obama is a good speaker and that’s it.
According to the intrade market, this was actually a good pick – he’s picked up a point or two since the announcement.
I really hate her, but I’d hit it….
I would violate her 77 times… yes… 77 times
I would shit in her mouth all 77 times… yes… 77 times
Strangle her, but not to death, 77 times… yes… 77 times
I would cut cut her into 77 little pieces while she is still alive… yes… 77 little pieces
Than I would give these 77 little pieces to her son so he eats them…. yes… all 77 little pieces
I love the number 77, but I have no respect for that bitch. But I would hit her… 77 times… yes… 77 times…
#103 you’re completely right.
Tim #134
“do you believe in traditional roles or not?”
are you saying you are not man enough to take care of a child?
or because you are a man, you are not supposed to?
grow up, it’s not 1950 here.
Boy the Dems must be loving this. Their convention went so much better than expected, the Hillary supporters were finally onboard, but…Obama promised so much in his speech that “he’s gonna raise taxes!” became a completely justified attack, and of course he was stuck with the whole “Temple of Obama” thing. Throw in a headline-stealing VP choice by McCain – somebody experienced, with solid conservative credentials, a real policy heavyweight attack dog like Cheney – and you’ve got the recipe for a successful counter-attack.
And then McCain goes and picks Sarah(Dan) Palin(Quayle). Good lord. I bet Obama is taking some time today to figure out where to put that White House basketball court…
She seems fine. Lot of likeable qualities. Some unlikeable ones, but overall less extremist than either Bush or Cheney.
Gives the McCain ticket some energy, also deprives it of the experience argument against Obama, since she’s much less experienced than Obama. But with this pick, we are assured that the next Administration will at least be better than the last one.
Oh, and conservatives: are you lost? This is the Superficial, where we ogle celebrities and chuckle at them. Its sorta sinful stuff, so why don’t you go watch the Left Behind movies again or something? We’re trying to have some fun here, and you guys are like a turd in the punch bowl.
#92 – Bill Clinton is and was better than any Republican president of the last 50 years, hands down. The GOP has nothing that even comes close. I like Obama, but if there were no term limits, Bill Clinton would still be president. (I am not advocating for the abolition of term limits… just sayin). His approval ratings, when he left office – after the Lewinski affair – were higher than Bush’s ratings for his entire 8 years in office save for about one month following 9/11 when everyone was fooled into thinking he had it under control.
uuummm, first off if some how McCain DOES win…and then he dies…then that means Sarah Palin is the next president of the united states of america….
we would be soooo SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWED
148
Bill Clinton is and was better than any Republican president of the last 50 years, hands down
how wrong you are. You Dems keep tickling yr titties with this quote and could not be more wrong. More attacks on the US, our soil or our bases over seas, happened on Clintons watch than any other Prez. Our military was depleted by 25% so he could pretend to balance the budget. North Korea received 5 Billion dollars and nuclear technology from your precious Clinton. That has so helped us now, right?
