First Miley Cyrus did it, and now here’s Joe Jonas slanting his eyes for a photo. Apparently the key to being a hugely popular teen idol is to also be a raging racist. Although to be fair, it’s more likely that he probably wasn’t making fun of Asians and was just caught wiping off his mascara. Seriously, what’s with all the makeup? Is he auditioning for the circus? Or is that just something really really straight guys do?

Rough Daddy | March 21, 2009 at 1:06 pm
Sure its offensive, but does the movement of new found sensitivity really know what being real racist means?
ripper | March 21, 2009 at 1:06 pm
This guy is a fag. So are his brothers.
Rough Daddy | March 21, 2009 at 1:09 pm
Those cut off tees does look like youre cruising for dudes…
squeehunter | March 21, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Yes, because almost no on else has ever made a racial joke and those that have instantly have something against that race for making a joke.
Funderoos.com | March 21, 2009 at 1:13 pm
WTF IS HE WEARING? His style is gayer than my funderoos!
Famous Plastic | March 21, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Oh, f(*&ing please. Making a funny face by pulling at the corners of your eyes doesn’t make you a racist, you morons.

he looks like a reject from Saved By The Bell!
Your Mom HAHA | March 21, 2009 at 1:43 pm
You people are WAY too liberal with the term “racist” anymore. What if he was just making a goofy face to complement his equally goofy attire? Unless he’s standing there with his eyes pulled, saying something lame like “Me Chinese, me play joke….”, then I don’t see how you can call it racist. Going by that logic, I guess any photo of anyone who isn’t black, with their lips poked out, could be deemed racist. Get a fucking life.
The Heat | March 21, 2009 at 1:46 pm
IWS must be so proud of his readers. They’re so offended that somebody might complain about a little racism. After all who doesn’t like mocking other races a little bit? But if you’re queer on the other hand… That’s fucking disgusting.
Of course, making fun of other races doesn’t make you racist. But wearing make-up. That’s just like giving a dude a blow-job.
Schlampe der Maschine | March 21, 2009 at 1:51 pm
So slanting eyes makes him a raging racist? Wow, very wise words.
dude_on | March 21, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I was offended before he slanted his eyes – the prissy euro-muscle shirt alone was plenty.
sarah | March 21, 2009 at 2:12 pm
racist fag
love this site

Bhahha, that was funny!
ps, Asians are sexy
Rice Apes | March 21, 2009 at 2:30 pm
This fine young man was merely protesting our jobs being sent overseas where the yellow apes live. They have stolen all our jobs you see. Yellow is the new black.
The Asian rice ape is not nearly as physically formidable as his North American Street Ape counterpart. They are just as dangerous and far more numerous. This makes them even deadlier.
May God help us.

I’m with Mr. Fish’s last comment. It’s more likely that he’s adjusting his guyliner. What do preteen girls see in these little rodent boys??
anon | March 21, 2009 at 2:39 pm
This IS racist and extremely offensive to Asians. Just because it doesn’t offend YOUR personal sensibilities (probably because you aren’t Asian) doesn’t mean it’s not offensive. This gesture has historically been used in a derogatory fashion, and it’s sad that this is still around and that you all defend public figures who do it. If Joe Jonas was in blackface, the nation would be up in arms about it…
Coyote | March 21, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Some of you got it really wrong: Making racist faces doesn’t make him funny. Not the other way round.
James Green | March 21, 2009 at 3:06 pm
It’s more racist to assume he’s making the face of some ethnic group.
Critic | March 21, 2009 at 3:21 pm
#22 You make this face anywhere in Asia, wait for the reaction, and then please tell me again that it is just an assumption.
Bemused | March 21, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Did Superfish break this story? I haven’t seen it anywhere else…it’s hilarious that Fish is the #1 site for finding out which uberreligious virgin teenyboppers are mocking Asians. Way to go, Fish!
Minge | March 21, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Joe Jonas also has a sideways vagina. Ain’t he neat?
lol | March 21, 2009 at 4:00 pm
#23, what are they going to do? They are all so tiny it’s like walking around a bunch of babies.
AirMail | March 21, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Perhaps if he closes his eyes tight enough, he can dream he has a dick.
Rossi | March 21, 2009 at 4:11 pm
I agree with #12. Making a face can just be making a face. It doesn’t have to be a display of deep hatred for a certain nationality, and in this case, it looks like there is no other evidence for this “racism” aside from everyone’s assumptions. There are only six universally recognized facial expressions–which means every other one is open to interpretation.
The only way you’ll find racism there is if you look for it.
JZA | March 21, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Who the fuck is Joe Jonas?
feckless | March 21, 2009 at 4:16 pm
The Chinese are nearly perfect. How else are you going to make fun of them if you don’t pull at your eyelids?
Coyote | March 21, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Fucking racist is also not the universally recognized verbal expression for fucking racist but it still means what it means. Beeing overly sensitive about racism might be annoying but talking it down is dangerous.
M | March 21, 2009 at 4:23 pm
#20 – shut up. if you’re young and american its not racist. if he did a “black” face or any other race, i’d laugh.
south park – The Ring. hahahaha

It’s a pretty correct description. At least he didn’t cover half of his penis.
m0nkeydump | March 21, 2009 at 4:53 pm
I’m Asian, and though it offends me, it doesn’t cause an uproar for me personally. However, if anyone made that face/gesture in front of me directly, it warrants an uppercut.
For those that are undermining the derogatory gesture, you’re a tool. Kids like you think it’s fine to make racist jokes with no pride for your own ethnicity, as well. I’d be glad if those aforementioned people are never successful or in power, since there are enough morons already ruining the world.
fitzwilly | March 21, 2009 at 4:54 pm
omg, is he the cute Jonas or the smart one or the really, really sensitive one?
(sounds of me screaming & crying like a 12 year old girl)
tartar | March 21, 2009 at 5:34 pm
ridiculous! can people not make faces anymore?! pulling your eyes back does NOT constitute hating asians!!!
everyone needs to grow up a bit and develop a sense of humor.
and as awesome as the jonas brothers are they dont even deserve this attention…
can we all please agree to ignore them until they go away?
ps, funny how the majority of these comments are about how stupid racism is yet nearly every comment is derogatory to gays?
i mean, c’mon…youre reading a PINK celebrity blog site? you sound pretty gay to me…
alex | March 21, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Who cares? I’m so tired of everyone being offended these days. Makes me want to go out of my way to be offensive.
Megan | March 21, 2009 at 5:40 pm

It’s not our fault Asians took a squinty-eyed “funny” face. There isn’t too much else you can do with pulling your face anyway. You kind of just go for the eyes. Gay people took refracted light, so people just assume things if you walked around with a rainbow T-shirt. I don’t find anything racist about this even if he was aiming it at Asians. Are Asians mad because their eyes are sort of like that?? The only thing racist was that guy commenting before about “rice apes” or whatever. That’s probably more productive to get upset over than this.
Furthermore, there is no such thing as having pride in something you were born into. Being Asian, white, black, native American, or whatever is nothing to be “proud” about. You didn’t accomplish anything. Winning the Nobel prize, being a talented artist, etc., these are things to be proud of.
Pope | March 21, 2009 at 5:43 pm
#36 it is perfectly alright to condemn racism while advocating for hate against gays. Ask your friendly neighborhood priest or pastor.
feckless | March 21, 2009 at 5:43 pm
@20 Blonde jokes much? Ever get gyped out of your money? How about getting off Scott free? ooooo boo hoo oooo
all you over sensitive types go do your circle jerk
feckless | March 21, 2009 at 5:45 pm
@38 – I didn’t know that theory, please explain: we all came from apes but some apes came from rice?

seriously……..WHY are people SO sensitive. I’m caucasian and personally i think asians have the prettiest looking eyes but I mean whos to say he was making fun of asians??? he’s probably just making a funny face…..and i know me saying that is not “politically correct’”but whatever. If anyone is truely offended by this, its because you’re paranoid. i don’t even like the Jonas brothers so im certainly not taking up for him but i will say that i hate how our society is so hypersensitive that i always have to walk around on eggshells.

Berta | March 21, 2009 at 6:04 pm
@44 you probably don’t have to walk an eggshells. I don’t. People I talk to know how to take it or they think i am an idiot(, which is close enough). But if you are in the public eye and have a ridiculous influence on other people, although you are just a small town idiot who left school way to early, you should damn well walk on eggshells. (I actually don’t know whether the Jonas Brothers come from a small town and I don’t care. I wasn’t even referring to them in particular.)
sfnfnffbbA | March 21, 2009 at 6:09 pm
“raging racist”? Why not happily racist? It seems like people here think being racist is a bad thing.
I, for one, congratulate all the racists here for being bold, having a strong streak of individuality, and going against the PC flow.
Yay! YAYYYYY FOR RACISM!!!!!!!!!
Yum | March 21, 2009 at 6:09 pm
I’m going to skip the racsim topic and simply say that gay or not, Joe Jonas is fine as fucking hell
