for what it’s worth, the Simpson insider who dished on the refusal was her dad, who didn’t want her to attend, for many of the reasons listed above. But damn, she would have been sitting next to John Boehner, and I’d love to see the picture of him ogling down her shirt.

FYI, most children born with cleft palates can not breathe or eat properly (even from a bottle) without the operation. Most of the deformities these children have are caused by the lack of prenatal care and the unsanitary enviroment mothers live in during their pregnancy. Operation Smile is a charity that needs financial support from both Democrats and Republicans. These are not superficial operations for vanity nor are the children necessarily orphans. Jessica has been very supportive of the President, but cannot represent Operation Smile at a convention raising money for something other than Operation Smile. Let’s get back to joking the self absorbed celebrities not doing anything useful but making asses out of themselves for our entertainment, bitches.

How could some people POSSIBLY be so stupid? Despite if you think Jessica Simpson is stupid, silly or downright slutty, doesn’t change the underlying fact she is looking to help CHILDREN, not vainly trying to achieve the Michael Jackson style nose but instead trying to help children who would be ridiculed, denied of any education, and would no doubt lead unhappy, unloved lifestyles in third-world countries. Some countries in Latin America, where cleft-lips are very common, children have to wear BAGS ON THEIR HEADS. And why not first help those in this country? Hrm, well maybe, kids aren’t forced out of school or forced into paper bags. Live 8? Was a desperate attempt at helping people dramatically after ignoring an issue for years, only to have it come back and bite us in the ass in the form of a pandemic, lets not ignore something else just being were are thinking about the mainland, kthanx.

She should stick to what she knows best… which is…. ummm….

Damn it I hate it when i get sucked into this but I love it so much when liberals use the term “non-partisan” as if they are speaking of themselves in such a way, yet they use the term “Republican” to describe gun-toting, white aristicratic pieces of shit.
Non-partisan means not giving in to the Democrat vs Republican propaganda and actually thinking about what is best for the country without labels.

By the way I thought Jessica Simpson lobbying for Operation Smile was some sort of tooth-whitening procedure – those things are blinding! And made worse by fake tanning.

Trust me, Bono has attended every type of Washington event he can get into, and when he’s there he hits up everybody there for his cause. But that is because Bono actually seems to care about the charity and causes he represents. I’m not joking when I say that the agencies repping stars give them a list of charities and tell them to pick one. It’s all part of the biz. Oh, and by the way, does Jessica have any new movies coming up? I heard that some deal got canceled because Dukes of Hasszard didn’t make 100 million domestic box office.

Oh my word, you guys are using Bono and Simpson in the same sentence comparing charity work.. I think my brain just started to bleed a little.. Bono has actually done some good with his celebrity, as much as it pains me to admit. And yes, so what if it is a Republican fundraiser? Republicans, Democrats, and everyone else use the same money-though I do agree that she would have been blacklisted by liberal Hollywood, but ya know, last time I checked, they really didn’t give a rat’s a@@ about her anyways…And honestly, this is not Clinton we’re talking about, Bush can’t make time in his schedule for every woman with big boobs who wants “private time” to “discuss” something.

The Operation Smile Charity is a nonprofit organization. Therefore, if she WERE to attend a Republican fundraiser, that would be considered partisan activity and the WHOLE charity could lose their tax-exempt status. Do your research before you start calling her stupid for not cozying up to Bush.

I think it should be mentioned that over half of these deformations where caused by the agent orange sprayed by the US over half of South east Asia during the Vietnam war. I’m sure their parents where probably communists anyway so I’m not judging.

GJMN, She is the face of a non-partisan organization. She can go wherever she wants to to increase exposure and raise money. The NAACP ran anti-Bush ads in during the election and they are a non-partisan organisation and have tax-exempt status. So how about you do YOUR research before correcting somebody who is correct.
