James Doohan, best known as Scotty on Star Trek, died in Washington State at the age of 85 after a long fight against Alzheimer’s. Additionally, Gerry Thomas, the inventor of the TV dinner, has also passed away at the age of 83.
Seems like today is a pretty sad day in the world of somewhat obscure famous people. I’d say more, but there’s nothing funny about death, especially when it’s of two people that don’t suck. I pretty much survive on TV dinners since my supermodel girlfriends don’t cook – or eat for that matter – and I can’t make squat on my own. Gerry Thomas, you will be missed.

Thomas, who died following an attack Monday of cancer, was a salesman, Omaha, Nebraska based CA Swanson and Sons in 1954, when he had the idea of packaging frozen meals, flat sheet, divided spaces to the mixture.
