Humans are omnivores, and eating meat is natural and sometimes necessary for those who cannot afford the luxury of going vegetarian/vegan. What isn’t necessary is the cruelty shown to these animals simply for their fur. I have no objections to eating meat or even using animal parts so long as it is done in a humane, that is, quick and painless manner.

101 – the luxury of going vegetarian? vegetarianism is cheaper than eating meat, most people know that. a lot of people in india (where i live) and africa and other places go vegetarian simply because it’s cheaper. Here most Indians make up their iron and protein with dal. Lots of dairy too, for protein – dal and dairy are both complete proteins..

But now back to number one… i actually happen to own a mink farm and we raise animals for fur and im not gonna lie its a great job. I have also read many of PETA’s papers and watched a lot of their videos, which is why i can say they are full of shit. There is no skinning alive, there is no strangulation or abuse. Hell if i cought an employee harming one of em id get pissed cuz hes ruining the pelt. Also if there was ever to be a mink being skinned alive i would be petrified. I do the skinning personally every year and iv done it for 5-10 years and not once has there been a mink skinned alive. So shut ur fuckin mouth and get your facts straight before you start stating your so called truths behind the fur business. This also goes for anything else PETA complains about, they spread false information to get more followers, which is why you can never believe a word they say!

*sigh* All I wish is that the public would someday realize that near-pornography should not be the decisive factor in decision making such as the ethical treatment of animals. One chooses whether or not to wear fur garments or consume animal products based on a nude photograph of a beautiful woman — doesn’t that seem, at the least, like a mismatch of ideals?
Of course, how many men (and women) who look at these ads actually consider their intended message? None that I know. PETA advertisements are essentially pornography with a few artfully inserted words.
That’s the awful thing about advertising. We have to go with what sells. But so many ads now are completely irrelevant or even contradictory of the message they’re trying to put out… and PETA, according to research reports, wastes quite a lot of animal products in its course. One day the hypocrasy will completely degrade the organization, I predict. I just don’t like it. Why should a woman have to strip and pose to promote goodwill to all living creatures? Does it make sense to you?
