Gwen Stefani returned to her roots and performed with No Doubt this morning on The Today Show. Man, these bring back memories of my youth, and each one ends exactly the same: Me getting smacked with a Bible because no one knew how to knock in my family. Which reminds me, guess who’s not blind, suckers!

These guys put on an amazing live show. High energy and not all snobby and better than the crowd, if u know what I mean.

I have been waiting for this for years! I first heard them when I was 15 and I have been hooked ever since. Gwen is great as a solo artist, but No Doubt feels like home. Love them!!

Danklin24 | May 1, 2009 at 2:29 pm

7:
The implication is that his family was fundamentalist Christian, his family was against masturbating, he was caught masturbating, and so someone in his family punished him by hitting him with a Bible. The humor is supposed to come from the whimsical absurdity of the implication.
Danklin24 | May 1, 2009 at 2:35 pm
Ah, blind…masturbating. wow im slow.

I remember seeing them in ’91 and ’92 many times at Old World and the Ice House, which was pre platinum blond days. They were always kick ass, I wish they would do some of that really old shit. Like Trapped In A Box. It was a different and harder style than even their most recent music. Good stuff. Good to see them back.
azzman | May 1, 2009 at 2:54 pm
word. i still wanna have hot sex with her.
Hugh Jorgen | May 1, 2009 at 2:55 pm

awww..you poor little wigger. Dont get your corn rows in a tussy shanaynay…I know your mad because your parents named you something afrocentric to compensate for their white guilt…but anger in life will get you nowhere…just asked your namesake where shes at right now. Go ahead, you can ask her through the drive-thru window.

Why isn’t she wearing her wedding ring?
Cash | May 1, 2009 at 4:09 pm
I miss their old stuff. Their self titled debut album was the best, back when Gwen was a brunette and still had punk cred. It all went downhill after Tragic Kingdom.

I agee with you and think their first album was the best too. Gwen wrote her best music while suffering from a broken heart after the bass player broke up with her. I also think it is great that she is happy with her body and never got breast implants.
Aurealous | May 1, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I guess even racist asshats like #16/#23 have opinions. Who would have thought it? I assumed people like him were too busy impregnating relatives! Douche bucket, next time, you only have to hit the “post” button once! I realize computers are probably a new technology to you. What a butt-puppet!
Vince Lombardi | May 1, 2009 at 5:32 pm
If you are going to go back on the road because you love the high energy of the crowd, perhaps the first song you play should be a little more up tempo that “Don’t Speak” so that the crowd really gets on their feet. A ballad never seems to cut it when you’re trying to pump someone up.
I love No Doubt’s music, but this was slooooowwwww.
testington | May 1, 2009 at 5:36 pm
so excited for the show! I got floor seats!!!
#14 – really? I always hated the early early stuff

The songs about her break up with the bassist and it works for me!
Vince Lombardi | May 1, 2009 at 6:24 pm
@35. Really??? Gosh, I didn’t know that. See, I only mentioned that I love No Doubt’s music, so that probably means I don’t know a fucking thing about the songs or their origins.
Since you didn’t read my first post, I’ll try to make easier for you to understand: I commented on the tempo of the song. “Just A Girl” would have been a perfect HIGH ENERGY opening. If each of your four band mate is going to tell the talking heads of TV FOUR times that you love the crowd energy, then play something that’s going to blow them up, not soothe them. I love “Don’t Speak,” also, but it’s a ballad and goes directly in the face of what you just made comment on – that you love the crowd energy.
JJ | May 1, 2009 at 6:39 pm
Gwen’s gorgeous!
Jim | May 1, 2009 at 6:40 pm
#12, #13 You think she looks like a dude huh? Well if thats what dudes look like then I have had it wrong for a while now. I wonder what YOU look like, are you a little sexually confused and thats why you make comments like that ??
Buddy Love | May 1, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Am I the only one who hates No Doubt’s ska bullshit and does not find Gwen Stefani attractive, a role model, or talented in any way? She’s got a cleft chin, no tits, no curves and her voice is annoying as hell.
samburinya | May 1, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Nice blonde…
britneyisstillfat | May 1, 2009 at 7:45 pm
#39 I guess we are the only two who agree. Gwen is really not that pretty.. She looks a little chub in that outfit. This “performance” was ghastly bad. I couldn’t even get through it. Who the fuck idolizes this phony dumb whore?
Yank and wank they rhyme for a reason | May 1, 2009 at 7:52 pm
can’t stand her voice it’s so banal and unspecial.
gracie | May 1, 2009 at 7:58 pm

lady punkass | May 1, 2009 at 8:34 pm
maybe she should have reunited with eve instead, or done a track with sisqo.

Hugh Jorgen | May 1, 2009 at 11:08 pm

Nice FAIL idiot.
Impregnating relatives? computers new technology?
Actually, impregnating YOUR relatives and using a Mac Pro Quad Core…so move along kid, nothing to talk about that you understand here. White Guilt redemption is on another site.

Definitely hope No Doubt gets back together, their songs were freakin catchy.

Gwen is fug | May 2, 2009 at 2:28 am
Yuck. Keep this shit at home, Gavin.
Jenna | May 2, 2009 at 4:45 am
The music seems to be lacking some of it’s… edge. I know it’s a morning show, but common. Anyway, I love this song, and can’t wait to catch a No Doubt show, so long as it’s not an arena tour.
But also, was it really necessary to bring back the 90′s clothing/hair? Can’t No Doubt be themselves without looking ridiculous?
