I usually get mines (eyebrows) waxed but have to tweeze to maintain!
I hate the "in between" stages!! Do you guys have any tips?

I get my eyebrows and private area waxed, with tweezing upkeep. I also get mine dyed dark because even though I'm a brunette, my eyebrows are blonde (due to an acne medication I use, I think!) But when I tweeze my eyebrows it makes me sneeze violently for some reason!
I used to shave in between my eyebrows when I was a teenager. It was utterly ridiculous. A girl in my class tried it at my recommendation and shaved off half her eyebrow, took a year to grow back.
Now mine are gorgeous though, methinks.

i tweeze my eye brows- but JUST the stray hairs.... i hate when women over pluck their eye brows so they become this weird line....it's so unflattering... and that's not an eye brow! also you should keep the natural shape of the brow...
i shave everything else on my body
i wouldn't wax unless i was going on some super hot sex vacation that i was not paying for... otherwise... fuck that.. the pain isn't worth it...

Thank God I don't have to do my eyebrows! Either way must be painful.
Hey magic, heard of threading though for eyebrows? My cousin "bans" me from touching my eyebrows but she says she would love to take me to get a little "touched" through threading.
THREADING EYEBROWS: AN EXCELLENT WAY TO GROOM EYEBROWS
Eyebrow threading definitely helps. It doesn't irratate the skin like waxing does, and is more precise and much less painful.
If you are one of those people who endlessly dote over smallest of details and cannot handle anything less than perfect, grooming and shaping your eyebrows must be an ordeal. The simple solution is always going for threading because that can be the only way closest to what you want. Although waxing may be able to give fancy shapes but the shapes are available as stencils. The stencils are uniform and standard and the same for everyone. So there’s limited choice. What your face and eyebrows need could be quite unique owing to your different taste or rare face type etc. So whether you want the foxy thin lined eyebrows or the natural yet clean ones you can get them with threading.
Eyebrow threading originates from India and is probably the only way that eyebrows are shaped there. It involves the beautician or whoever is performing the threading to make a loop with a thread and twirl it a couple of times. The loop with the twirls at the center and the sides held by the beautician when applied with light pressure on the area of unwanted hair growth removes hair efficiently. The best thing about threading is that hair can be removed from the exact spot where unwanted and any possible desired shape can be achieved.

since this is a girls thread, i may as well tell you that i used to always shave my private area, but that it usually itched/burned so bad afterwards that I stopped for awhile to heal. how do you solve this?

It's much better to wax but I can understand why people fear this as it's extremely painful for some and not so much for others. But it is usually the best way to go since you can avoid those irritation bumps, etc.
Some people have had some lazer action done but that has to be expensive :? but I'm not sure. You go for three visits and can be hair free permanently apparently.

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal that is still used in parts of the Middle and Far East. Thin, twisted threads are rolled over untidy hairlines, mustaches and so on, plucking and snapping off the offending hair. In Western countries, threading can still be found being performed in beauty salons that cater to customers who emigrated from said areas.

When my turn came I was quick to tell the lady who was attending to me that I did not want my brows too thin. I also pointed out that this was my maiden foray and she smiled. Without a word more, she proceeded to pull the thread on my eyebrow. I could hear the "swish swish" sound as she deftly pulled the thread. Her actions were quick and precise. I felt as if my skin was being pinched but the pain was bearable. On hindsight, the pain is less than the use of tweezers. Barely five minutes later I was done. For S$5.00 (approximately US$2.90) my eyebrows now have the arch of a typical Indian lady and they look nicer and shapelier than the unshaped ones of old. The area below the eyebrows also look much cleaner and I imagined I could now have sensational eye make-up like those of cosmetic models, that is, if I perfect the technique.
It pinches.
Traditionally, threading is used on the entire face, including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks. I have seen old paper clips of Chinese amahs threading brows and faces in old Chinatown. However, in modern Singapore it appears that the Indians are practising this craft widely.
But of course, you don't have to have it done on your entire face.

right after i shave i put on witch hazel and i always put moisturizer on it if i ever feel any discomfort (which is rare)... i don't know... i've never really had a problem with itching/ burning after shaving though... as long as i do it regularly... also,, i'm not a hairy person, even down there... never really had a hard core bush, so i think that is also another reason why shaving has never been a problem.
i have more of a problem when i have pubes... i hate the feeling of them....
i've waxed before and i found more of a problem with that than i have with shaving.

Yoyo, I started shaving about 5 years ago, and at first it was the biggest pain in the ass! It was itchy and painful when it grew back, but then I shaved it everyday and after a couple weeks my skin got used to it, and now it doesn't bother me at all. Even if I go 2 weeks without shaving again, it still wont bother me when I get to it. I hope this makes sense, but you just have to toughen up the skin I'm guessing. It's alot less painful than waxing.

Okay, you are talking to someone who's mission is life is to rid herself of all body hair. I hate hate hate it, so I go through great lengths to get rid of it.
Threading: I haven't done this but I've heard either really good things or outright horror stories. I think it really depends on the person doing it. It's usually a pretty cheap way to do eyebrows.
Waxing: I'm fine with the waxing, so I've stuck with this. It really pays to go to someone really experienced. My lady used to be the waxer for all the Playboy models for the photoshoots. I've tried others that were cheaper or a more convenient location and I've found that it is worth it to go to someone with lots of experience, because they have to recognize the type of skin you have, the growth patterns of your hair, the thickness, etc. They also have to have good sense of your natural eyebrow arch or they will butcher it. She does mine perfect every time. Pain: It hurts really badly for a few seconds, but by the time you walk out of the office you are fine, maybe a bit red the first time. If you keep it up regularly there will be less hair to pull, making it less painful (but don't do it TOO often, because the skin needs a break from the waxing). Cost: for Brazillian and eyebrow wax: 75 dollars (she's pricey, you can probably do this for 50 bucks around you) and I go every three weeks, as I prefer to have no hair at all.
Shaving: I shave or pluck in between brazillians to keep the smoothness, but this is not a preferred method for regular use. Everyone says your skin gets used to it, but in my experience even after shaving every day for a month the regrowth, itchiness and redness was awful. But that's just me, so I wouldn't discount it being okay for someone else. I do however shave my legs/underarms every day.
Depilitories: I have allergic reactions so not a good method for me, but might be okay for someone else.
Laser treatment: I went in for a full body consultation. I want it all zapped, and in the end it will cost me about the same per month as my waxing/shaving does. However I'm having second thoughts now, as some people that I know that have had this done have had SERIOUS regrowth even after multiple treatments. I'm going to continue doing research before I invest that much money into it, but I really hope it works.
