It's obviously a location thing. It's called Pop in the midwest, and in parts of the south it's all called Coke, which isn't good for Coke.

Ball is right. Pop is the way to go here. I do say "Coke" because I really only drink Cola type pop, but I'm actually an RC Lady (followed by Pepsi THEN coke). But the type of drink is definitely pop. I don't think I've ever actually said the word "soda" out loud without duress.
