Just some light humor, not taking any particular political sides.
Anyone else?

Ah, Politics, from the greek word "poly" meaning many, and the word "tics" meaning blood sucking parasites.

If con is the opposite of pro, does that mean Congress is the opposite of progress?

Has anyone noticed that since the forum has segregated World Discussions from our "Post a Pic of Your Pet" Threads, there's been a lot less activity in this area?

Or maybe it's just a lack of RRBM

Perhaps we can't fool ourselves into thinking it's fluffy talk now that it has its own section. Now there's importance placed upon our words in here. Put it back in GD and I have a feeling there'd be more posts.

In the area of political humor, as this thread is supposed to be, what do people think of Tom DeLay being true billed by the Grand Jury?

No one trusts him, most just fear him.

I really haven't found anyone to vote for in so long. I just vote against the lesser of the evils. That is one hell of a bad point for the political system isn't it.

It is sad. I think the majority of the population are moderates. Either moderate republican or moderate democrate, but it seems like everyone that runs for election is an extreme liberal or conservative. Therefore we just vote for someone who represents some of our views, not most.
I'm in NY and it was 3or 4 years ago that Hillary (ick) Clinton ran for senator here. The guy that ran against her, Rick Lazio, was IMO a perfect candidate because he ran as a republican, not conservative, but also had a lot of "middle of the road" opinions which appealed to the other side... However, we know how the story ended so poo. But he was actually one candidate I voted FOR, not just against Hillary.

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

Thanks for the funnies, Ash!

I love the Reagan quote too. That's pretty good.

Here's another I like:
