I hate that show, but admit that I have tuned in... I would recommend that the 'leave the room, go up to the suite, pack your bags and leave immediately' routine be replaced with a 'trap door to a waiting dump truck which will drive you to the state line' routine.
It would really set an example for the other girls.

The judges on the show actually want to cut it even shorter, like a complete boy cut. I think they are doing that on this weeks episode. I think it looks alright, it works with her face. But so far I like Jayla and Lisa *below*

I'm from the East coast (Connecticut) and the black girls here mostly wear their hair straight too. There are some girls who do have the big hair, I'm one of them. It's not overly out of control but I do have natural loose curls and tend to wear my hair out instead of straight down.
I think it just might be a big thing in the fashion industry right now. I've seen a lot of magazine covers of models with that kind of hair.
I like Jayla too though. I'm hear you though.... Even though I liked Eva, I wanted the other girl to win... Cant remember her name though, she was brown skinned... If they pick a black girl she is never dark, its always the light, bright, damn near white ones who win.... I know black is black but DAMN!!!!!

One more thing about the hair. Someone gave me an article about blacks in the industry and the article stated that they dont know what or how to do black women hair. So that could be another reason why they like that look.

I think Yaya should have won too :), but she wasn't my initial favorite.

When i was on tour, we primarily hit cities on the east coast and in the south (Atlanta included), so i saw a lot of black women rocking the natural hair, and when i say natural i mean full on afros, which is cool, i like it on other women but i don't think i look good with it. I don't see that here in Arizona at all. You don't see it much in entertainment, with the exception of models in mainstream tv commercials and in print which makes me wonder the motive behind this new trend, like do they think this will appeal better to black audiances. I made the comment because it appears Tyra chooses the same type of black woman everytime, i'd like to see her mix it up a bit. They all look like Yaya's to me! If i lived in a humid city i'd wear my hair natural too, it was a real pain to keep my hair blown out and sleek while on tour. :?

kim has her moments when shes beautiful other times she freaks me out... i think its alot to do with how they style her hair. When shes got the fringe down i dont find it flatter... when they straight up fauxhawked it, it looked alot better. In some shots she reminds me of Delores from teh Cranberries... whom i love.

I do not like Lisa one bit. Shes a fugly bitch. But she photographs well. i think shell do horribly on the commercial though. Can you imagine trying to make herself lovely and approachable? Coryn will do badly too. Shes too cold.

Us women, are bitches. yeah I said it. :lol: So, I don't trust easily, hence my M.O. Nik, on the other hand seems to be pretty well grounded and does not anger easily. She decided that she wouldn't allow herself to be subjected to whatever else Jayla has up her sleeve. She recognized early on that Jayla is capable of so much more. That's not childish at all. Why should she talk to someone who is capable of doing something like that? And what gets me, is that Jayla got mad at Nik! For what? She's a crazy psycho bitch.

This is a modeling competition. It isn't an audition for Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood 2. I don't get the big deal. So they had the same secret? So Jayla used the one Nik came up with? What's so upsetting and disturbing? It's not like it had any impact on the competion. If I had been in Nik's position I would have been mildly weirded out, and probably asked Jayla what she was doing, but I certainly wouldn't have whined and sniveled about it, nor would have I felt betrayed- and I certainly wouldn't have dragged it into the judging and presented myself as a victim of betrayal. If something as trivial as this managed to rattle Nik as much as it did and subsequently effect her shoot, then she's in the wrong competition- and the wrong industry.

I found it interesting how she went to the "outcast" of the house, Lisa, to "find out" why Nik was mad at her. Wasn't she just talking about how much she didn't like Lisa? If she didn't like her, why wasn't she probing any of the other housemates?

Yeah, I'm done with Tyra. She's going to lose a lot of her fan base for this one. I don't think her vote was for Nik, considering there were only 4 judges, and Ms. Jay was rooting for Nik practically the entire time. Nik won't have a problem signing to an agency though, and I'm sure she'll eclipse Nicole. Ford will probably snap her up anyway, considering they were repping the runner up to Eva Pigford (I forgot her name). Anyways, it's funny because Nicole is not going to be able to work her way out of the shadow of Eva or Nik. I'm not even going to wish that boring girl luck, it would be futile at this point.

I just have to rejoice in the fact that Nicole's contract with CoverGirl and Ford is probably locked and capped for a certain timeframe. Nik is a free agent and can sign the most lucrative deal for her. She'll def go far.

My cousin is - he works for the same agency that signed Tyra Banks when she first got started, so I've got the inside dish :D . I've read a lot of postings from people that are outraged. I'm also basing my predictions on not only what was said in the aforementioned postings ("I'm never watching ANTM/Tyra Banks Show again"), but the poll on her website, as well. Also, the reason I stated that no one will want to work with her, is due to her behavior (not just her looks). Did you even watch the season? She was totally unprofessional, "Oh the lights are blinding me."

You're right that most of the models don't have huge careers, but Eva is doing great. She's had way more exposure than the average model with 6 plus covers, numerous runway shows/fashion spreads, and tv appearances to boot. She is definitely a working model, and has been placed on the ever-elusive "Special Arrangement" board at Ford Models. She's definitley not going anywhere.

I'm not the only one appalled by the judges decision, BTW. If you read other posts, you'll see that I'm not the minority. plus I don't just base my opinions on one competition. Nicole has repeatedly not performed through out the show, and should have been elimated a long time ago. That's why it's such a shock to everyone.
