The "Official" LOST Season 2 Discussion (Spoilers)

I thought I would start this early with something that people should be very interested in if they see the show.

Kristin from E! has been giving hints as to what's in the Hatch since she already knows. Here are the hints.

# 09/13 - This thing in the Hatch can be called by two different words: One is three letters and starts and ends with two letters that are right next to each other in the alphabet. The other is seven letters long and starts and ends with the same letter. Source: Kristin on E!Online

# 09/12 - Another tip on the hatch: Some of you were there this morning.

I'm guessing its TRANSIT? (BUS maybe for the 3 letter word?) As in a network of tunnels under the island? Some of us were there this morning and it fits the 7 letter thing with letter beginning and ending...then again I could be wrong, but I always thought it was something like a tunnel system because the producers did say we would know what inside the hatch in the 1st episode but not understand its significance to the islanders till episode 3.

Anybody else wanna take a crack at this before the new season starts next week, Sept 21. 8pm on ABC?

Its a very odd thing, but no. All we can tell is that it sounds very mechanical, is powerful enough to uproot trees, as is followed by what I can only describe as "living smoke" that zips around the trees. When it dragged Locke around, it sounded like a rollercoaster getting to the top. Not sure if its fully mechanical though. Only Locke has seen it before.

Here's the thing about Lost I dont get, Great show, supremely well acted and produced. But heres my question the whole premise is they are stranded on the island and all the skeletons in thier closet come out etc. etc. . But really how do they plan on keeping people into this show for more than like three seasons before people just throw their hands up with the show, because nothing is ever going to climax. I dont get it but I see this happening next year.

I got the full synopsis of the first episode and it sounds WEIRD. You guys are going to say "what the fuck" when you learn whats in the hatch. I was totally wrong about the TRANSIT thing.

I've seen the summary for the entire episode and...INVISOTEXT ON!
A man named Desmond lives inside the hatch, an underground apartment if you will. It is not certain why he's in there, but he has a network of security cameras and guns and when the hatch is blown...he goes to see what happens up there and this is before the titles run.

Haha, it seems that AINTITCOOLNEWS has spoiled the entire first episode so here's their whole summary of episode 201
The season opener starts with a "previously on Lost" recap of events which happened last season. After that the buzzing of an alarm clock goes off and we are in someones room. The unknown man wakes up and is going about his morning routine of working out, making breakfast, showering, etc. During his routine, an explosion is heard and the room shakes. The man rushes to grab a gun as the camera moves away and out of the room, down a corridor, and up a shaft to show Locke and Jack peering down the hatch.

The flashbacks in this episode center around Jack in what seems to be his earliest flashback to date, excluding the childhood ones. He is sporting a new, longer, haircut and we see him in the emergency room treating victims of a car crash. He is forced to decide between working on the man who was hit or the woman who crashed her car into the other guy. He chooses the woman and works his magic. After the emergency room sequence we see that the woman is in fact Julie Bowen who played Jack's wife last season. She needs an operation because her spine is crushed and will almost certainly be permanently paralyzed for the rest of her life. Jack isn't too optimistic about her situation.

Afterwards, Jack is called aside by his father who tells him that he has to be optimistic at times even though it may be giving false hope. Jack then promises Sarah that he will fix her before starting the operation. Next we see Jack running up and down stairs in a stadium. Jack slips on a stair and twists his ankle, but another runner comes over and helps Jack. They get to talking and the other guy's name is Desmund. He is an athlete training to go around the world. He talks to Jack about his promise to fix Sarah and that he broke his promise and they talk about miracles happening. Desmund gets up and before leaving says, "see you in another life." Sarah wakes up after the surgery and

Jack is sititng by the bed. He tells her that he broke the promise and that she is paralyzed from the waist down. She says that he must be joking because she can wiggle her toes. They share a happy moment.

Note that this all takes place throughout the episode through several flashbacks, not just one like I described it.

Back on the island, Hurley explains to Jack about the numbers being bad luck and Jack replies, "they're just numbers." Seeing that the ladder down the hatch is broken, Jack decides to go back to the others and tell them that they need to find somewhere else to hide since they can't lower everyone into the hatch one by one. Back at the camp, Shannon has lost Vincent and goes off looking for him along with Sayid. They are seperated and Shannon sees a drenched Walt standing in the middle of the jungle. Sayid comes up behind Shannon and she turns back but Walt is gone. Jack tells everyone that they can't go into the hatch, but they can make cmap there and that they'll be fine. Locke comes back to gather some cables because he is going into the hatch. After talking with Jack, Kate decides to go along with Locke.

Locke lowers Kate into the hatch and at the bottom, she says that theres something down there. Next thing you know white light is shining out of the hatch and Locke pulls up a Kate-less cable. Locke decides to go in after her. Jack goes after Kate and Locke and gets to the hatch to see no one there. He uses the cable to descend into the hatch.

At the bottom is a long corridor, reminiscent of a submarine in the way that there are pipes all over. There is a wall with a large mural painted on the wall with the paints still on the ground next to it. Then there is a sound of a motor which turns out to be something like a surveilance camera. Jack pulls out the gun and all of a sudden loud music starts playing and bright white light is shining down the corridors. Jack turns down a hall away from the light and makes his way into a large room with lots of computers and machinery. He is about to press a button on one of the keyboards when, from behind, Locke says, "you shouldn't do that." Jack turns around and pulls the gun on Locke. Then a gun is pulled to the side of Locke and we see the mysterious man from the beginning, but not much of his face. After some threats and a false shot being fired, we see that the mysterious man is actually Desmund, whom Jack met in his flashback. Jack says, "you...?" and the episode closes with the trademark "LOST" and DOOSH sound.

Ive read from numerous articles written about the show that the creators have ensured that its not something lame. They arent on a reality show like "The Truman show", they arent all dead and dont know it like "the sixth sense".. its not dinosaurs...its not like "the village" etiher.

if you havent seen it, i highly recommend looking for it on a torrent site..there are lots of them out there with all the commercials edited out..there are like 25 episodes to catch up on. :o

More Lost tonight, people. This is a VERY important episode, this third episode!

Not only is the magnificent Mr. Locke being profiled in flashback mode, we will finally understand just why the hatch is so important. Also, we can expect none other than Peg Bundy herself, Katey Segal, playing a woman named "Helen" who is VERY important in Locke's life, possibly as Locke's biological father's trophy wife? A good friend of his? His ex wife? Who knows...

Bum Bum Bum....

Also...anybody notice...

The same corporate logo stamped on the many products inside the pantry when Kate is in it...is also tattooed on the tail of the shark that messed with Sawyer and Michael. You can see the word "Dharma" with a swan logo on the food products, Desmond's jumpsuit, and on the wall inside the hatch...but a shark? Biological experiments, anybody?

Spoilers from tonights episode...
-Katey Segal's "Helen" is actually Locke's ex wife.
-During the standoff, Kate hits Desmond with a shotgun and somebody ends up shooting the computer inside the hatch...Desmond looks up from the floor at the smoking bullet hole...the computer ruined...and he exclaims..."what did you do??? We...we're all going to die..."
-The rafters find Michelle Rodriguez as their captors push her inside a tiger hole with them.

And a gigantic season 2 spoiler that will freak people out...
People in the rear of the plane survived...but almost all of them have been KILLED by the others.
