To all those crowing about delicious, um, burger: she’s coming out against *fur*, not meat (though PETA is of course opposed to that as well). What differentiates fur from meat, of course, is that it’s purely cosmetic, not required for survival, and that the animals involved must not merely be killed, but by definition killed inhumanely (strangulation, electrocution, skinning alive). They do, in fact, have a point here — or maybe two perfect pink points.

@32 the difference between fur and meat is skin you peta sympathizer and it doesn’t have to be obtained “by definition killed inhumanely ” (what’s that even mean?) If something doesn’t die on its own you have to kill it. There’s no humane way to kill something. If it was alive and you make it dead you’ll have a hard time convincing anyone you were sympathetic and compassionate. That’s why we buy food from butchers, so we don’t have to kill the cow, we can just grill it up and eat it. The same goes for people who wear fur. They buy it to wear it, not to kill the cow. Someone else does that. How they kill the animal has nothing to do with how the steak tastes or how the coat looks. As for the animals, if nobody wanted to eat them or wear them they’d die on their own cause nobody would feed them and if you had a choice to slowly starve to death or just die I think you’d choose to just die which means the people who kill the animals we eat and wear are both good and bad at the same time. And since one state cancels out the other this means the animal dies on its own regardless of who’s there when it dies so why do you and your douchebag demagogic peta pals care what happens to their carcasses?
