Emily Blunt Pissed Off ‘Fox & Friends’
Emily Blunt earned her citizenship the right way. She came here legally, learned to speak American, and never once used an Obamaphone. She wasn’t born from rapist, drug-dealing parents then sheltered in a sanctuary city until she was handed the high-paying and satisfying job previously being reserved for a white person. So, it’s kind of surprising that Fox & Friends got so offended by her light joke about the first Republican Primary Debate — you remember, the one where Scott Walker literally said he’d let a mother die to save the life of the baby — being kind of scary. But they at least offered the measured, civil response to her joke, like the kind they’re calling for in the face of all of Donald Trump’s spurious bullshit, right? Via Gawker:
Not one to let an obvious joke slide is Fox & Friends cohost Anna Kooiman, who rather impressively doesn’t laugh, not even once, as she scolds Blunt: “Why don’t you leave Hollywood, California, and let some American women take on the roles that you’re getting, because Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets.”
Oh wow, they went right to “Get the fuck off my TV!” Well, at least that’s the same deal they offered to fellow free-speaking American Phil Robertson after his controversial statements and not, oh I dunno, spending an entire fucking week behind-the-scenes with Duck Dynasty.
Here’s the full video where they basically condone a boycotting of her movies, which gives Emily Blunt the ultimate troll leverage to star in a made-for-TV movie about the war on Christmas. Is it wrong to put up a tree in your house to celebrate the day Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s head exploded? Fine, no tree, but I’m still making cookies.
