Before getting into the deluge of news/bikini pics from the weekend, it wouldn’t be right not to take a moment for Dennis Hopper who died Saturday at age 74 from cancer. I can’t honestly say I was a rabid fan, but his scene with Christopher Walken in True Romance was on par with seeing Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro’s first on-screen encounter in Heat. Plus at least half of us have walked around going “Pop quiz, hot shot” then proceeded to announce there’s a bomb on something. (If you guessed my penis, pat yourself on the back.)
Rest in Peace.

he may not have gotten the divorce he wanted in the end but I am sure he went out knowing that there is a special place in Hell for women like his “wife” who fought the poor bastard to the very end.

A true bad boy, both on and off stage. I love this guy. I hate to see him go, but he is in a better place (I hope) and not in pain anymore. Rest in piece, dude!

Blue Velvet, always.
Also, “River’s Edge” – with possibly the best acting Keanu Reeves has ever done.
And strange little movies like Wim Wender’s “American Friend”.
And always “Easy Rider”.
A great artist. Sad to see him go. But it’s also true that he lived a very very full life.

i’m not a fan of his, but for all of the movie title-droppers who are listing Hopper’s “A” game work, anyone who IS a fan of his yet hasn’t seen “Out of the Blue” needs to get their shit together and do it. A fantastic and disturbing flick from 1980 (during that nebulous time when Hopper had yet to start mattering again in Hollywood). Check it out…

One of the all-time greats.
Ah well. We all gotta go sometime. Just glad he was around.
Adios, Hopper. And…..thanks.

I agree about the True Romance scene with Christopher Walken. They both were awesome. R.I.P. Dennis, on to a better place.

Blue Velvet is one of my all time favorite movies. But I still give him lots of credit for performing “Fire Coming Out of Monkey’s Head” live with the Gorillaz. Sure I bet he got paid, but he could have passed… That’s an artist, IMO. Rest in Peace, Dennis, you deserve every wink of sleep.

My quote from a Hopper toast over the weekend: after shooting the rum, “Fuck that shit! Pabst… BLUE RIBBON!!”

So…last week you said you hate independent cinema, now you’re not a big fan of Dennis Hopper…I think I can safely say that Transformers is your favorite movie of all-time. Am I right?

I loved his voice (not singing, speaking). He was an ideal loony in films. Is Miley still breathing? Somethings fucked up here.

Dennis Hopper led a pretty exciting life – would have been more so had he not spent 20 years high as a kite. His role in “Apocalypse Now” may have been the stimulus Hopper needed to get back into the game, a game he was damn good at.
It’s a fluff movie compared to his other roles but Hopper obviously had a lot of fun with one of his later movies, “Swing Vote”.
RIP..

I am sooo sad about this. This guy was a gem. Actor, director, photographer, painter, poet, you name it. This guy did everything and was good at everything he did.
I hope his cunt of a wife gets nothing. Good for him for trying to divorce her right before he knew he was going to kick the bucket!

Dennis Hopper was a true rebel, a legend and a great actor.
Fuck all the idiot “celebrities” that have shit for talent, no balls and
no game.
Hopper had it. For years he was blacklisted from films. He came back from that.
He beat drugs and alcohol.
No “celebrity” holds a candle to Hopper.
Take your fucking Snooki, The Situation, Keanu fucking Reeve, Shia fucking Laboeuf, and every 2 bit douchebag whore like Paris, Lohan, Tila “Fuckwit” Tequila and multiply their
talent times a million and not one of them come close to what
Dennis Hopper achieved.
You’ll never see someone of Dennis Hoppers calibre in this millenium.
Yeah sure he made a couple shit films to pay the rent but 10 minutes of his life
is worth more than the lives of 99% of the celebutards featured on this site.
Rest In Peace Dennis Hopper.
