Denis Leary has gotten himself in trouble with the Autism Society of America after an excerpt was released from his new book Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid. Here’s Denis’ take on the topic via Page Six:
“There is a huge boom in autism right now because inattentive mothers and competitive dads want an explanation for why their dumb-ass kids can’t compete academically, so they throw money into the happy laps of shrinks . . . to get back diagnoses that help explain away the deficiencies of their junior morons. I don’t give a [bleep] what these crackerjack whack jobs tell you – yer kid is NOT autistic. He’s just stupid. Or lazy. Or both.”
Considering I insult Criss Angel any chance I get, it’d be hypocritical of me to fault Denis for making fun of the mentally challenged. In the meantime, he completely redeemed himself, to me anyway, with his following thoughts on Dr. Phil:
“[He says] such thick and exasperating things as, ‘Everybody has their own personal Ground Zero.’ Oh, really? Does that mean someday two large speeding planes will crash into the side of your insipid hairless head? Let’s hope so.”
I’m sorry, but there’s no way I’m following that. Denis Leary, everybody!

oh, he never said autistic=stupid.
He said that bunch of idiots prefer to say their children are ill instead of lazy/stupid.
Because if your son is a moron you FAIL, if he has a desease you can still think you are a good parent.
Sad, he will be forced to apologize just cause people are too stupid and lazy to make the effort to understand a joke, they just hear “autistic” and start yelling.
Be hysterical is not a way to make somebody feel ok and well integrated
not sure who said it earlier, but …
the government recently admitted to vaccinations being harmful to children.
I think it happened in California, could be wrong.
look it up.
some folks are being a little insensitive though. leary is out to make a buck with his book — and that he will. doesn’t justify what he’s saying or make it right. He likes to talk around in circles about freedom of speech etc. but freedom in some peoples’ hands is a dangerous thing – it ends up being a weapon by which to hurt others.
something to think about.
