If you didn’t watch David Blaine’s attempt to break the world record for holding his breath underwater yesterday, you didn’t miss much. Mostly because he didn’t. The current record is 8 minutes 58 seconds and Blaine claimed he would top it, but fell short and only managed 7:08 before divers had to jump in and rescue him. He’d been living in an underwater sphere for the past week and this was supposed to be his big finale.
On Sunday, six days after he’d submerged himself into the water-filled tank, Blaine told ABC News that life in a big fish bowl was starting to become “horrific in many, many ways. Every muscle doesn’t just ache, it feels like a sharp, shooting pain–like a knife being stabbed.”
Actually, other than that, Blaine’s maladies included, per reports: atrophied muscles, an earache, skin rashes and a touch of liver damage. “I don’t think it’s permanent, but I’ve never felt this kind of pain in a stunt before.”
7:08 is a pretty impressive number, but Blaine’s “tricks” just aren’t exciting anymore. Maybe for his next stunt he can crank things up a notch and try flying a rocketship into the sun. No twist, just fly into the sun and then disintegrate.
Hey, it’s pretty funny seeing everyone ragging on each other as opposed to ragging on celebrities; the celebrities don’t fight back.

PEOPLE, the stunt was faked! The dude’s a magician not a master diver. If you Tivo’d that thing you would see how fake it was. It didn’t even line up right when he got in and out of the water. He is using some kind of a screen and projecting an image of him on it that he prerecorded. Ever wonder why he’s always behind a clear surface?? I saw this fool in NY when he was in a block of ice and people were walking by flipping him off and he didn’t react. It was all PRERECORDED!! Also he’s in water for a week and only his hands prune up???? That’s why they were so quick to put towels on him…so you couldn’t see how unpruned the rest of him was. Also, the guys a magician he doesn’t need divers….the handcuffs are all fake. When the divers jumped in they distracted the actual part where they turned off the video and he came up from the DRY hole beneath the bowl. You can actually watch the background change if you play tivo in slow motion! This fool has the nerve to act all out of breath and weary. I’m sure he has a twin brother too which he switches out with—hack magicians like him usually have a twin. If he broke the record there would be no excuse for the distraction of the divers. QUIT GIVING THIS AHOLE so much credit!

I think David Blaine is a very special human being, if those who booed him had nothing better to do than they should have found something interesting to do on their own, they chose to come out. What did they want to see, these same people probably love to hear bad news.
