Hopper From ‘Stranger Things’ Might Be Cable In ‘Deadpool 2′ Now

Thanks to Deadpool making a butt-ton of money on a shoestring budget, Fox is scrambling to get a sequel together so they can test America’s patience all over again with a farting cartoon character and his never-ending marketing campaign that could make The Pope want to spit in the eyes of God. Anyway, for some reason it’s been ordained that Cable – the time-traveling future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey – has to be in Deadpool 2, and the casting rumors have been all over the map. From Stephen Lang to Kyle Chandler to Pierce Brosnan to Russell Crowe. (Personally, I would’ve gone with Leslie Jones. “Yes, my dad shoots laser beams from his eyes, and I’m mad as hell!”) Except now The Wrap reports that Chief Hopper is probably going to get it:

“Stranger Things” star David Harbour is being eyed to play Cable in 20th Century Fox’s “Deadpool 2,” an individual with knowledge of the situation tells TheWrap.
The source also said Fox has screen-tested the actor, who plays Chief Jim Hopper on the Netflix phenomenon, to play the time traveling mutant in the upcoming sequel to the hit film.

Look, I barely tolerated the first Deadpool, so I honestly don’t have a dog in this fight outside of putting the words “Stranger Things” and “Deadpool 2″ in a headline so I can dip my nuts in sweet SEO. On that note, hey, remember when Winona Ryder made those faces next to that guy we were just talking about?

The truth behind Winona's reaction

Good game. *walks away, closes door, light dipping sounds fill the air*
