Chris Brown says Rihanna should shut up. Smart.

November 9th, 2009 // 60 Comments

In a statement to MTV News, Chris Brown pretty much says Rihanna should’ve kept her mouth shut last week which surprisingly didn’t send his publicist careening off a cliff in a hale of bourbon and barbiturates – yet:

“While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us,” he said in the statement. “I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.”

And Chris Brown is right. Rihanna probably shouldn’t have told the world he bit her in the ear and fingers like a belligerent three-year-old. It’s the least she could do to thank him for all those punches to the face. Some people are just ungrateful, I guess.

I don’t really see anything wrong with what he said. He is politely avoiding and sort of he said/ she said situation, maintaining that what he did was wrong and that he is sorry, and that he hopes people learn from his mistakes. What else could the guy say?

“I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us” It’s good to want things. However, in a felony assault case to which one confesses guilt, all of the details are a matter of public record. Sorry Chris, society doesn’t have a special case for you.

It’s pathetic on both of their parts that they are doing nothing but turning it into a publicity stunt. Both Chris and Rhianna need to shut the fuck up.

@2, It also takes a big man to admit you were wrong, man up and take accountability for your actions. You can’t change the past and if you want to claim you’ve never made a mistake you wish you could reverse, you’re lying. To revel in the past and think nobody can learn and grow from their mistakes is equally, if not more pathetic than having the lack of common sense that Chris Brown did that night. Grow up, child.

I actually feel sorry for women and children that have to put up with abuse on a much larger and prominent scale. To watch Rhianna cash in on it via interviews, publicity and record sales, is fucking pathetic. Fact is, people are going to make bad choices whether or not some celebrity is involved or not. Abuse isn’t going to decline because Rhianna “spoke out” about it. If kids are growing up making decisions based on what celebrities do, I’d take a look at your terrible parenting skills, not the poor decisions these people make. Common sense people, use it.

She was promoting her fucking album and thats all. Stupid whore. Also, compare what she was wearing when she arrived to the interview to what the people changed her into to make her look more innocent…

Also, if you browse around youtube and other music sites everyone is on Chris Browns side.

That’s exactly it. What do you want him to do? Admit he was wrong? (He did) Admit he’s a douche bag? (Pretty much implied). Say he’s sorry? (he did).

These people can get back to me when time travel exists and you can reverse prior events. What’s done is done.

I clicked on this story out of a morbid curiousity to see how many shitheads would be here defending Chris Brown and/or accusing Rhianna of speaking out to increase record sales, and it’s worse than I thought. Only a douchebag would defend Chris Brown.

Um. When you are the instigator/attacker, you do NOT have a say in what is kept public/private.

“Yeah, wife, I kicked you to the ground the other day, but I really think it should be kept between us. Respect my privacy.”

I can’t stand Rihanna, but his statement is ridiculous.

Of course he wants it to remain between them. Would you want everyone to know all the morbid details if you beat someone senseless for no apparent reason? He’s only concerned with his image – and the fact that fans and sales are dwindling….. Sure he’s sorry – sorry that he may lose his career.

Also, it’s not like we know what exactly happened between them in the car. For all we know, she could have started hitting him. And, he went psycho and responded? After all, she does have those cougar nails LOl.

There’s beeb enough hinting at the fact that Rihanna is as big an abusive, fucked up asshole as Chris Brown – the two of them smacked each other around from the get-go, sometimes w Rihanna being the 1st one throw punches.

This one time she got the worst of it because Chris is a grown man and bigger than she is. This in no way excuses what he did, but just points out that Rihanna is the exact same sort of idiot as Brown.

So thats why he’d like her to shut up, because she’s fucked up as he is.

Let me say I don’t agree w/domestic violence. However this incident happened months ago, now you want to talk about it when your album just happens to be coming out? Plus she even said in her interview “if I did hit him first, that doesnt mean I deserved what he did to me” Basically she is saying she hit him first. I don’t condone violence from either gender. Both of them should have kept their hands to themselves. Its obvious they have fought before, they should have been broke off this volatile relationship.

There’s absolutely no point for that dumb bitch to come out with an interview saying what happened 9 months ago. Both her and Chris Brown have new records and the only reason she did this interview is because of that. Now people will feel sorry for her and buy her terrible album.

You sound like a girl who has had the shit beat out of her, and then went back. Why else (as a female) would you say “we don’t know the whole story, blah blah blah”. You may not know the whole story, but you saw the results. He looked fine and she looked like a wreck victim. Any female that says shit like you is an embarassment. Now go ahead and fix that sammich for your husband. We wouldn’t want to make him mad. Make it snappy too…and don’t add too much mayo. You know how he hates that. Meanwhile, the rest of us non-retards will be getting an education, making money, and laughing at idiots like you.

K Amy, go feel sorry for Rihanna. I’ll spell it out for you too in easier words >> I feel bad about women being abused. But, if she was in an abusive relationship, she could get the hell out of it. It’s not like she can’t support herself. Even after what Chris did to her, she went back to him. Still feel sorry for her? She’s actually a moron. And must I repeat it again and again, why’s she talking about it wayyy after the incident when her album’s coming out. Enough spew about celebrities.
