Chris Brown Was Told He Couldn’t Be On ‘Power’ Before Arrest
Before we begin, you know what you’ll never see? A photograph of me posing with Chris Brown at a pool party I invited him to, Jared Eng of Just Jared fame. Mostly because I’m poor and nobody reads my site, but you get the point.
So apparently people need an explanation for why Chris Brown would allegedly get high off his ass and wave a gun at a woman besides he’s Chris Brown, so here’s the New York Post with a report that claims a day before his arrest, Chris was told he couldn’t be on Power after 50 Cent personally told him he’d be on Power without checking with anyone besides 50 Cent:
A source close to Brown told us, “50 promised Chris a big role on ‘Power,’ playing a drug dealer. But 50 didn’t consult the network first, and execs were not happy when they found out about it.”
The source continued, “The network insisted that Chris’ casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues. There was a big blowup, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid.”
In Chris Brown’s defense – *almost loses a finger as laptop slaps itself shut* JESUS! – Power seems like a pretty awesome show where everybody’s always jerking off to prove how tough their character is, which almost never happens in real life. That crowd at Cracker Barrel did not acknowledge me as the alpha male. Anyway, 50 Cent is still confident you’ll see Chris Brown’s naked penis on premium cable:
On Thursday, 50 Cent was still insisting he’ll get Brown on the show, despite the network’s reservations. He told Page Six, “Tune into ‘Power’ next season, because you will see Chris Brown.”
Not surprisingly, Starz couldn’t be reached for comment because as of right now their official statement is probably along the lines of “Fuck. Dammit…” or the more neutral “Sonofabitch.”
