Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack is now openly claiming her autopsy results won’t be an overdose despite basically every piece of evidence pointing towards that outcome. (Read: Marrying a man who looks like he keeps jars of women’s hair in his basement.) NY Daily News reports:
“I’m confident it wasn’t an overdose,” he told The News. “She was not a drug addict.”
He confirmed Tuesday that investigators found and took away a bevy of precriptions – ” but nothing else” – and slammed speculation that the 32-year-old beauty was abusing illegal drugs.
“There’s no question that’s rubbish,” said Monjack, a British photographer and screenwriter who married the “Clueless” star in 2007.“The attacks on me, the attacks on my wife and suggestions that she was anorexic and drug addicted, it’s like, look at the (recent) photographs,” he said.
“Look at that smile. That’s not the smile of an anorexic or drug addict or someone in a bad marriage. That’s someone who was content with her life.”

I know it’s a rough time, but this guy is being pretty simplistic and inconsiderate towards people with drug addictions and eating disorders… like they have no happiness at all or cannot fake it. Secrecy is a HUGE part of eating disorders and drug addictions, and may people with EDs put a show to make it seem like they are doing better than they are.

If she had been really sick for days, it seems unlikely she was partying hard the day she died. Plus, it was in the morning, like 10:30 AM or so, another unlikely party moment. And her mother was in the house. It all seems doubtful that it was a party drug overdose situation. Also note that some of the drugs were in her husband’s name. Even if they were on her nightstand, she may have just been managing them for him. Or her’s had room to spare.

The only evidence I need of an ongoing drug issue is in the leaked police report. Her mother said in the report that they found her collapsed on the bathroom floor and put her in the shower. Anyone who has dealt with someone with an ongoing drug problem that is being kept quiet puts an OD’d person in the shower to see if they can bring them around without medical or police intervention. I don’t care what the money grubbing idiot husband says. The actions stipulated by them in the police report says enough to know that they had seen her in this condition before. You find your daughter/wife collapsed on the floor and don’t call 911 straight away? The human brain has 6 minutes from full cardiac arrest to brain damage. Yes seconds count. Deny what you will but your actions betray you Mom and hubby. She had a drug problem and you knew it. Now what it was or how long she had the problem may never be known, but the only person responsible for her helath and wellbeing was Brittany Murphy. She was 32 years old and more than accountable for her own actions. If Hubby wants to be left alone, he needs to crawl back under the rock from whence he came.
