An LA County Superior Court Judge has taken custody away from Britney Spears and ordered today that Kevin Federline “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court.” TMZ reports:
Judge Gordon had ordered Spears to undergo random drug testing and take parenting classes. Sources say Federline’s powerhouse lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, raised the issue that Spears was driving without a valid California driver’s license … Spears took the kids to the drive-thru at Carl’s Jr. at 12:02 this afternoon and surrendered the kids to K-Fed’s bodyguard three minutes later.
What is the complete opposite of shocking? Because that’s what this is. The biggest surprise here is that Kevin Federline is getting the kids. I figured the judge would’ve come to his senses and awarded custody to a hungry shark. Or this blender I found in the garbage. I guess the jump up in parenting would’ve been too big a shock for the kids.

This is sad for Britney, but no one can say she didn’t deserve it. The Judge gave her a chance to at least make an effort at cleaning up her act, and to all appearances she didn’t even try. Federline may be an asshole, but at least he’s made an effort to do that thing parents are meant to do. You know what I mean, the bit where they look after the little tykes, feed them, teach them stuff…RAISING THE CHILDREN. Yeah, that. Britney was never good at that.

Eh… I can’t seem to care. Nobody’s seeing the upside here: Britney will now have tons of time that she used to devote to the tender loving care of her children to drinking, not wearing underwear, squeezing into ill-fitting, unflattering clothing, driving irresponsibly, typing nonsensically into her Myspace page, practicing her striptease and her lip-syncing, etc. I do wonder how many other children whose mommies aren’t famous are being abused/murdered right now because LA County has decided to “save” the poor Federline kids. I’m not saying Britney doesn’t have it coming, but I gotta think that if the authorities gave every “endangered” child this much scrutiny, we could eradicate child abuse overnight. They’re in such a hurry to prove they’re not soft on celebrities, I believe they’re overcompensating. Just a thought.

Given her situation, she’s not fit to handle kids, but hello, all the funds in raising them will come from her. It’s okay with me that she’s not getting her sons, no matter how painful that may be, because the reality is she’s too depressed. To make things worse, she had an opportunist who fathered her sons, (everybody saw disaster coming when K-fed stepped in the picture, right?) and this opportunist-nobody supposedly acts the part of being a responsible father, only to squeeze more money out of britney. now even if kevin gets custody, the nanny raises the boys because he’s too busy partying and womanizing, and spending his ex-wife’s money. so britney is pushed to the gallows in this, when she’s financing the whole charade (even k-fed’s attorney fees). can’t we hear her out, she’s depressed for chrissake, see can’t see clearly, what she needs is support and help and not everyone bashing her and pulling her down more. she entertained for a good many years, and this is how the industry hammers her down to the ground. hardly fair, but i support her, and i know the old britney won’t be back, i just want her to live her life, without expectations, without prejudice, without critics, without discrimination.
