“Her erratic behavior has moved into bipolar disorder. Your energy level and emotions alternate between highs and lows, and that seems to have happened here. It seems that Britney has a mood disorder. She strikes me as someone going through a delayed adolescence.”
Powerful powerful stuff. Especially coming from somebody’s who’s never actually treated Britney. Hey, you know who else hasn’t treated Britney? Me. So here’s my professional opinion: she’s fucking nuts.

I would think that perhaps Britney had a mental exam when she went to Promises? Maybe not. But how many people go to rehab who AREN’T using drugs and alcohol? So we can assume she was at least doing that. Britney needs to buy a ranch in Montana and disappear for a couple of years. She could spend that time with her kids, getting exercise, breathing fresh air, and getting her poop in a scoop. SImply getting away from her enablers would be a good start.

First off, the “expert” in question was said to be a psychologist, meaning that this person is not a Md. Not that there is anything wrong with that; there are just as many retarded psychiatrists as there are psychologists. Psychiatrists Px meds whereas psychologists (at least here in the states) cannot give out meds except under very limited conditions.
Secondly, the “expert” in question is most likely a dumbass for reasons already specified above. The most notable of which is that he/she has never treated/interviewed/etc. Brit. Without a solid case history, it is nigh impossible to diagnose someone properly.
Thirdly, “rapid cycling” as seen in bipolar disorder, does not refer to wild mood swings (i.e., depression to mania) that occur on a minute-to-minute basis. Rapid cycling usually refers to 4 episodes of depression, mania, etc. in a *12 month* period.
In conclusion, this “expert’s” opinion is about as valid as your next door neighbor’s.

If this doctor had any compassion for everyone in the US, he would send her an Rx for some bipolar meds; even tough, we all know that she appears to be too messed up to take them. She needs to have someone force the meds down her throat ASAP. Maybe, her dog will put the meds in some cheese as a snack for her. I bet the poor pup is going insane from all of her weirdness, and he must be constantly sick to his little stomach from her carrying him upside down all the time.
First off all, this psychologist IS in correct when he says brit has “moved into bipolar disorder.” it’s a chemical imbalance, you have it or you dont.

I thnk people don’t realize that substance abuse is often a RESULT of BD. My sister is bipolar, and when you’re on your highs, you’re crazy happy, and often reckless, and promiscous. When you’re at your lows, you drink wayy too much.
Just saying. It is highly possible britney is bipolar, with her substance abuse as a result from the disorder.

As a person who has to live with bipolar disorder on a daily basis, I not only find the so-called “diagnosis” insulting, I am also disappointed in some of the comments made by people who clearly do not understand the nature of this illness. People who suffer from this disorder are not “crazy,” nor do they experience new mood swings every few minutes. Although I know that most who are naive of this serious disease will consider to be so and consider to make ignorant and rude comments, I do hope that some of you will try to learn more about what bipolar disorder really is, seeing as it is estimated that between 2 and 3% of the US adult population is afflicted by varying degrees of the disorder. Only based on her interviews and pictures I’ve viewed of her, she exhibits clear-cut signs of a narcissistic personality disorder, possibly signs of paranoid schizophrenia, and the type of emotional immaturity that is rather common among many individuals that either chose or were forced to transition to adult stresses and roles at a young enough age without the proper guidance/coping tools to deal with it. Based on her bloated disheveled appearance, erratic mood swings, outwardly evident lack of hygiene and continuously demonstrated lack of good decision-making skills, I’d strongly suspect she’s dependent on alcohol and/or recreational drugs (as opposed to bipolar disorder which cycles in periods of days, even weeks or months, not one day to the next). Alcohol/drugs dependency tends to be (but not always) the means of “self-medication” for those afflicted with many types of mental illness. Until Ms. Spears is open to professional help and willing to work the multitude of issues going on in her life in a healthy and mature manner, she’s only going to continue to spiral out of control.
And yes, happy campers, that’s my professional opinion. ;)
