Blake Lively hosted this weekend’s Saturday Night Live where she portrayed Elin Woods in a sketch lambasting Tiger Woods’ recent penile dalliances (after the jump). Honestly I can’t tell you if it’s funny or not since I turned the sound off then things went all fuzzy… But what’s important here is the fact that I’d let Blake Lively beat me to death with Arnold Palmer duct-taped to an Escalade. Just making sure that’s out there.

I kinda thought that was the point of SNL. Doing skits based on current events has been a staple of SNL since it started in the 70s. Where have you been? When it skewers current events, politicians and celebrities, that’s when it’s at its funniest. It’s always been true.
I thought they did a good job on the Tiger Woods thing. It’s about what I expected…pretty amusing, and as a bonus, we get to stare at hot little Blake Lively.

She came out in a knockout skimpy dress. I wanted to see more but the camera was kept zoomed half in. I think that was the joke, that they were “slyly” denying a pervert’s desire because when they finally panned the camera back, lo and behold, there was a fence. So lame.

I like Blake Lively. All I saw from this show was the Tiger Woods sketch..funny..but didn’t live up to my expectations. (Where’s the humor when there’s no surprise? The progression was so predictable..)
Anyway, from what I’ve seen, Tiger is handling this as well as he can, considering the circumstances (considering where he is now, however he got here). Marketer John Tantillo recommended how he handle the scandal. This was before the mistress stories broke, but I think it holds true all the same.

I feel sorry for her. She got into Stanford and so is likely a well rounded, intelligent person. But she got into acting through her parents who are talent scouts. Now they are pimping her out, making her out to be some kind of sex siren. She comes across as a little girl lost on TV…or as a sex pot wannabe. She shows off her breasts waaaay too much, as if to divert attention from her rather bland acting style and her common-looking face. She does well with what she has been given, but I’d rather see her emphasize her chracter/personality and less of her physicality. She has become a stereotype of blonde hair and big boobs. That’s all people think when they see her. Generic blonde sex siren. Forgetable. Blake is better than this, and yet this is the path she has chosen for herself.
