Bill Cosby Accuser Lili Bernard Presses Charges In New Jersey

“Wait. Did I pour from the rape pot again? Wazzle wizzle…” *falls over*

One of the things I have to constantly explain about the Bill Cosby rape accusations is that these are mostly women in their 50s and 60s who just want to be heard and aren’t looking for money which they can’t get because they can’t even press charges against him thanks to the statute of limitations. Their legal recourse is basically nothing. Or at least that was the case until a new accuser, actress Lili Bernard who was allegedly raped by Cosby after appearing on The Cosby Show, pressed charges in New Jersey on Thursday. Think Progress reports:

Bernard’s alleged rape happened in New Jersey, where there is no statute of limitations on sexual assault. According to Allred, Bernard reported the assault to the Atlantic City police the day before the press conference.
The details of their stories are sickening and, to anyone who has been following the string of accusations against Cosby, familiar: both women claim Cosby drugged and assaulted them. As Vulture reported, Bernard said her attack occurred in the early ’90s, under the guise of a “mentoring session”:
“After he had won my complete trust and adoration, he drugged me and raped me,” she said, adding that the comedian later threatened her, “You’re dead, Bernard. You don’t exist. I never want to see your face again.”

Now, I’m no big city lawyer, or even someone who reads John Grisham books, so I have no fucking clue what any of this means in the long run because I’m pretty sure it’s going to be hard to prove a 20-year-old rape accusation. And I’m saying that as someone who absolutely believes Lili Bernard and even Googled time machines if it would help. I also looked at several online videos of people having sex and even one where the chick was dressed like a pterodactyl. This was way off-base and yielded very little evidence. None if I’m being honest. I’ll turn in my badge now.
