Balloon Boy’s mom admits it was a hoax

October 25th, 2009 // 48 Comments

In an affidavit released Friday, it’s been revealed that Balloon Boy’s mom Mayumi had informed the police the entire fiasco was planned two weeks in advance and was, as everyone suspected, a publicity stunt to land a reality show deal. This information is what allowed to authorities to obtain a search warrant for the Heene residence.

In the meantime, Richard Heene has refused to admit it was a hoax until the gecko in the backyard agrees not to launch a lizard revolution to steal our precious man-cheese.

Balloon Boy
EPT8 Deauville: A man with a stick and the balloon boy
Or, "300 words about a balloon." By far the most notable incident of Day 1B so far has involved a man, a stick and a helium filled balloon. There are 90 poker tables in the tournament room. A large work station is in the middle of them with the tables ...
REALITY BITES
There are even shows and Websites that exist mostly to recap and/or make fun of all these shows. The recent Balloon Boy hoax is a good illustration of the damage these shows are doing. Why is America endlessly entertained by all this? All this fake and staged reality?

When will they throw Heene and his doormat Asian wife in jail and out of the public eye? Then maybe Spock, Jr. and his brothers can get a brand new mom and dad. One’s that aren’t actively trying to raise criminal sociopaths.

10: It’s a good thing coverage is limited to Colorado then because their government totally wouldn’t've taken care of this on their own and needs Nancy Grace to really get to the bottom of things for them.

are you kidding? you really don’t get this?

ok, the original idea was that this was to be portrayed as the nutty hijinks of an endearing rapscallioon (“balloon boy”, hiding, pretending to be in the balloon to alledgedly freak out his nutty professor-type dad, as a prank on the kid’s part) and hilarity was to ensue when the “truth” came out (kid found in hiding, dad slaps his forehead and says “gawrsh”) with a charmed population ending up highly desirous of a “Heene Family Holiday Special” on ABC or somesuch. dig? it was actually a fake of a prank.

have you never seen America’s Funniest Home Videos? Watch it sometime to get an idea of just how ham-handed your typical American is when he’s trying to be “accidentally” funny…

I think the original idea was to hope we would turn in to see this mutant freak of a child fall out of the balloon and go splat. It would be like the japanese version of Cirque de Sole except with blood and stuff. I’d buy that for a dollar !!!!

Which is why we WILL eventually have a Balloon Boy TV show anyway. The focus will be different than Heene originally planned but he’s obviously willing to do anything to be on TV, even it means being portrayed as mentally abusive father, etc.

Actually, they should still make a reality show with the dad but twist it a little. The theme would be something like: an adorable crazy scientist in prison, surrounded by mean criminals.

The camera would follow him everywhere, obviously, and we could even glimpse him getting pounded in the shower.

That’s a lot of potential, you just know it would have better ratings than his lame idea for a show.

Dad and mom should go to jail long enough to become irrevelant again. Couple years would be nice.

I wonder if the kids will be so eager to drop f-bombs and act like little bad ass bastards in juvenile detention. If the kids act like they did in Wife Swap or their youtube video, I think think they’ll step right into a proper ass whoopin’.

The United States is fucked. The only reason this family did this is because of the state of your society. why bitch about them, its American media and its viewers that created all of this.

Geeez why would they think up such an evil scheme to trick us all?? I WONDER WHY!? Because it works! You have too many stupid fucking reality shows creating useless celebrities that’s unfortunately spilled over into most of the rest of the world.

You probably can’t even see how insane it is from the inside.
