I’d like to agree with you- but unfortunately fish’s comments do not. He’s clearly “confused” = ridiculing that she removed “healthy” breasts because of a test. It’s all okay that he said it, and it’s all okay that I don’t like it, and it’s all okay that you don’t like that I don’t like it. I think I’m pretty much in agreement about breasts. I get it, and hell, I like it. What I take exception to- and my exception is just as valid as Fish’s comments- is the idea that she’s wigging out about it, or that she shouldn’t have done it. And I DO think that Fish’s comments and other people’s comments here equate her value with her boobs/looks. And at the end of the day, that’s crappy and not funny. Feel free to disagree.
So… I would also like to voice my offense at the original post by Fish. No, I don’t actually have to accept everything Fish says because I laugh at some of it. This was especially sexist and ignorant, and let’s face it, that’s saying a lot for Fish. Some things are funny, and some just are not. This is not. It’s nasty and meansprited and not funny. Not funny- not because I’m offended, but because it was just.not.funny.
Nope, not the same thing at all. The BCRA gene isn’t just a precursor to “getting breast cancer” it’s getting really amazingly aggressive and deadly breast cancer that has a very high mortality rate vs other types of breast cancer. They are not all the same, sad to say. The path you advocate is great for people who do not have a predisposition to especially deadly cancer. Waiting to find a lump for those with this gene are basically setting themselves up for early death. Men who have this gene are also at high risk for deadly and aggressive breast cancer.
Wow. Rico Jones for the woman-hating gold! Your hate is like diamond!
Nonono, please DO share your self-immolation jokes. About you. Immolating yourself.
